I’ve been an avid toyota fan for about 10 years now and my journey started with a Tacoma years ago.
As some of you have seen, I built up a 2019 Limited over the past few years and the truck was near perfect for any adventure.

When I moved to TN from CO about 3 years ago, I found myself not using the truck as I had intended… and last week it went on to a new owner.

Another major reason I decided to sell the 2019 had to do with my career. My job is heavily client facing and I wanted to clean up my image a little bit.

I browsed the market for weeks and was looking at various trucks. A few that made the list were:
    - power wagon
    - AT4
    - land cruiser

ultimately, I wasn’t really “in love” with any of them and found a deal on a 2020 Pro in Jonesboro, AR. 55,000 miles and only one owner prior.

the purpose of this truck will be just like the last but my goal is going to be “OEM” as possible. Avoiding bumpers, cutting, and bolt on / external accessories. I want this thing to be clean and look stock but beefy.. as any proper truck should.

Now, I do have some plans and those are:
    - 285/75/18 (on stock Pro suspension)
    - CB shackles for a little rake when towing
    - SS3 Pro fogs (the stock rigids are underwhelming)

    that’s it for now.

    here it sits stock today.

    more to come!

285/75/18 put on earlier this week. Looks perfect. Minor rubbing on sway bars though so need to figure that out

Use wheel spacers. Rubbing on the sway bar will take the paint off and cause rust in a matter of months. I made the mistake of ignoring rub on my Jeep and I had to sand down and repaint my sway bar where it contacted the tires.

nice, I really loved your last build. It was not too much and still within "stock" looking category for me haha

Love the motivation behind this one and I’m excited to see the final product. I’m very client facing as well, and when I pull up in my bright ass blue broverlander rig to jobsites, I worry I lose some creditability with the customer that I’m there to work with.

appreciate that! And I get where you come from. It’s a double edge sword. Half not caring and the other half that perception is reality..
Thoughts with this is to keep it clean and simple yet still capable

I’m with ya. The next build will be milder but still capable, basically following the line you are. I like that not stock but not overbuilt look too.

Did you end up using spacers for the wheel rub?

Great looking truck! Question does the trd skid plate extend beyond the portion of the sway bay that curves? I’m only asking because I’d like to get one but don’t know if my larger tires will rub. If you had a photo from underneath that would be awesome!

Truck looks legit AF. I put the 285s on mine because the 295s wouldn't fit. They're a great look with those spacers. Only downside to the 285's was they were more expensive than the 295s

Can’t believe I found this thread! I just camped through your previous build looking for guidance… and I purchased this exact same truck beginning of September! 2020 TRD Pro in Metallic Grey. Haven’t changed a thing yet, but eager to get going.

What size tires are you planning to run? I believe most are running larger tires and several with the PRO skid plate. I do not experience any rub with 35x12.5’s
