Have read many people saying they purchased a westcott lift kit for their 3rd gens while waiting for "something better" to come out.

now that you've had to live with the westcott kit for a while, are you still looking to upgrade to something else? if so, what kit?

I use my truck for a daily, and would like to use for mild offroading, nothing crazy. I'd like to buy quality gear like elka or kings, just wondering if worth spending the many more thousands

    cheers

Removed mine after 3 months hated the ride. Going over speed bumps or large dips felt like the front end is bouncing off the ground from the shocks toping out because of too much preload. Bought a Readylift spacer till I get something better. Rides great now. Westcott has a lot of hype cause they make great Youtube videos I feel. They overpromised and underdelivered IMO.

thanks for the honestly. i heard lots about the harsh ride, but that can be subjective i think. I def don't want my brand new truck to ride like garbage. Elka just released their 2.5 series shocks, should be a bit less than Kings and still great quality, and black friday just around the corner.

I run the westcott on my trd pro coilovers. But, only the bottom spring seat, not the top spacer. This is combined with toytec shackles. Works great for me.

I like the lift but its got nothing on the kings which are on my wifes 4runner.

I have been very satisfied with the service and products that Westcott has done to my Tundra. Yes They did my 3" lift.

Doesn’t matter. Op asked for an opinion on how the westcott lift rides.

    SR5 with black Hitachi dampers.

I installed the Wescott kit in the first 100 miles. It was the only option at the time, other than the pre '22 spacers that were available.

It rode like hot garbage, nowhere near the 'almost stock' promise they make in the videos. I could feel the front shocks 'topping out' on speed bumps, and the ride was overall very harsh. Slowing almost to a crawl when turning into parking lots was mandatory.

I replaced the WD lift with Icon Stage 1 as soon as it was available, and the truck rides better than new now (maybe a bit under-dampened in the rear, but not bad). I am one groove below the max lift, which I think puts me at 2 1/4" in the front. I still have the WD rear spacers installed..they are fine.

Thanks, you guys have confirmed my suspicions. I’ll be going with an elka setup instead. Cheers

Had the westcott installed on my 22 for about 6 months and it rode like shit. It was always a temp solution for me till suspension started rolling out. I went with Icon stage 6 and I'm really happy with it.

Im gettin my 3/1 wescott lift installed next week on my 23 platinum non avs and will give my opinion once it's on. Will test before and after alignment to see how much of a difference a good alignment makes. I've been debating the same thing Wescott/full suspension lift and have decided to start with the wescott. The 3/1 anadized kit cost me $525, installation will be $400, alignment will be $100, so right at $1000 total. Seemed worth the risk to try it out, if its as bad as everyone is saying it is I'll upgrade next birthday.

I think the Pro setup (given the Fox suspension and already 1.1” lift over standard TRD’s) is a little different setup and Ride isn’t as shitty.

For those of us with the full 3/1 on the regular TRD OR setup and some others it’s was good for the time but it’s jarring every bump I hit.

it’s gonna get changed as soon as the make up my mind between Dobsons or TRD lift

I'm really happy with the look. 2/1 Dobinson IMS. I had a Dobinson lift in my 2019 Tacoma, and was really happy with it

I've had the truck for a month and Westcott/Ridge Grapplers for a week.

Love the Truck, but my initial impression of the Westcott solution is not very good.

Definitely not "factory ride" like Westcott boasts, and that IS taking into account the Ridge Grapplers added girth.

I had almost the exact same setup on my 2015 Tundra Platinum (except 20" Wheel) liked it and I thought this kit would be a no brainer. Love the look, but leaving my driveway and over speed bumps my front end now feels like it has some of those cheap bike shocks from when we were kids. And just FYI I did take it to "THE" shop in my area, and inspected the install after watching the install video and am 100% confident it's installed/aligned properly. Maybe if Westcott offered a longer shock as part of the kit?

I guess in this case you do get what you pay for. I'm not really complaining, as an older guy I like things more refined now, but this solution would have been fine when I was in my 20's or 30's lol.

I'm gonna give it a couple weeks/months and If it don't "break in" a little (hopeful but doubtful), Icon will be getting some of my hard earned money. Hope this helps.

Weird that so many of you are disappointed in the Westcott lift. Mine rides great.
