Either start-x if you’re going to configure it yourself. Or hit up tech12volts and he will get it all configured for you. Plug and play. Good luck

I installed this kit a few months back. Works great. I use the factory fob but also got the app for times I need to start and am out of range.

A few years ago I installed a compustar with DroneMobile compatibility, highly recommend. You do pay $50/month. Can start you truck from anywhere with your phone. Also has gps tracking for an extra fee. This came handy when the Kia boys stole my wife’s Tucson last weekend

Got the tech12volts kit and downloaded the app. Had it for over 2 years now, hands down one of my best mods - use it all the time.

AccessoRides - extremely good guys, exact same parts as 12volt Solutions, great customer service, better prices. Use them on my last 3 vehicles.

I have @james@tech12volts " Tech12volts" and I've installed the 12Volt solutions one in my friends 4R. I believe the GPS app module was free the first year and a 39.00 yearly renewal. Great tool. Ive used it not only for start feedback but also when I had some serious mishaps with my keys. Long story but the GPS module is worth it to me.

Think you have an extra 0 in there. I have DroneMobile on my Tacoma and it’s no where near $50 per month.

Just installed a kit from 12volt Solutions. I think they are 25% off for BF.

Yeah but he has the premium option with GPS tracking. An enhanced feature that lets you pick a GPS location to show where your vehicle is (like a VPN). So you can show your trucks at work, but really you’re at the golf course. Well worth it for that feature alone.

EDIT *scratch that. I see where there is the Ultimate plan at $50 a month. Not an option with my older system I guess as I did not see it when I logged in.

Sorry that is not worth $50 a month to show my truck in a different location nor do I see that listed as an option. Besides it would only show when someone is sharing the same drone mobile plan. I'll stick with my $3 plan.

I have the StartX kit. Love it. When you get into the truck, insert the key, and the TPMS light goes off, engine never does. Then press the brake and you’re good to go. Only drawback to others (doesn’t bother me) is it’s limited to factory keyfob distance. But, there’s a module you can buy (I believe made by Fortin) for true remote support, but again, with monthly/annual fees. Highly recommend.

I remotely start my truck almost every time start it.
I need to hear that burp of my @dirtydeeds BAM..:eek2:

Been happy with the Compustar remote start and alarm.
I only wish it used the OEM key fobs so it would work better with my 3W window module....

I have the basic Drone Mobile sub with my Compustar remote start alarm.
The Drone app was a little sketchy sometimes years ago, but no issues in a long time.

Times out after 15 of running unless you get in it or shut it off yourself.
The engine doesn't cut off when you open the door like the OEM remote start.

Distance with the key fob is a couple of hundred yards.
Distance with the Drone app is unlimited.

The first few years I used the GPS Drone subscription and realized I didn't need it.
Paying the basic $60 a year now.

It notifies me when the alarm is tripped.
Stage 1: a loud stereo driving by or vibration is detected.
Stage 2: someone is fuk'in with my truck.
Stage 2 went off twice when my cats were cut off.
Unfortunately, I was 90 miles away at work..

    Where'd you get it?

Did you have to remove the dealer installed remote start?

I don't think I ever had a dealer remote start in my 2014.

There was a small local shop close to me that sold it and installed it.
They have since gone out of business..

Mine works with the factory key fob as well. Only issue with key fob you don’t get pitstop mode. My wife’s suv she has key ignition, when you need to make a quick stop, you hold the start button on the compustar remote for 3 sec and the car stays running and you can remove the key. I can’t do that on my tundra with factory key fob

How do you remote start the truck with the factory key fob?
There is a specific button on the aftermarket fob.

I've never tried to use the factory key fob to even unlock or disarm the Compustar..
The installer told me not to..:eek2:
    Maybe I should try it..

sorry just saw this. We parked at a friends house literally in front of their house. We had a party bus pick us up there for a brewery tour. Came back and car was gone. We called the wonderful Chicago police and told me they couldn’t do anything until it’s stops because it can start a chase and harm the public even though I was tracking their location. So me, my brother and law his off duty cop friend followed them until they stopped. Killed the night but at least everyone was safe.

press the lock button 3 times and it starts. Doesn’t turn off when you open the door. It’s pretty sweet but honestly I use the app 95% of the time. Not sure how the installer did it but he told me it’s a computar like my wife’s. Just toyota has a way to use OEM keyfob
