Just stopped by my Toyota dealer and noticed that a new 2023 Platinum stock from the factory had the air suspension adjusted to higher setting than the 2022 models. I guess Toyota got the message that the 2022’s were hitting the bump stops . Glad to see that they taking care of the problems as they arise.

just brought home a 23 and it was sitting on the bump stop and now dealer is playing the stupid card. I adjusted it so its not on the bump stop but it still is a brutal ride when hitting bumps.

I adjusted mine so the distance between the ground and the rear well arch is 38 1/4 inches and my 1794 drives very smooth and I am yet to hit the bump stops. Wondering what height measurement did you set yours at?

Thanks for this post. I am fixing to take delivery on a 1794 soon and will check this before I leave the dealer with it. Any chance of a pic of the proper setting?

I had to adjust it all the way down to stop the axle from banging on rubber stops on the frame. This will also give a better stance with some rake.

I think models with led headlights are auto-leveling, aren't they? For those trucks this adjustment definitely doesn't warrant a separate dealership visit. It's 30 seconds with a 10mm wrench to move the lever. I did that with mine within days of taking it home as I didn't like how it sat so level.

Thanks for a good pic and for sharing your knowledge. Just another example of how this site rocks! So it’s basically just adjusting the linkage in the slotted bracket? This is showing it raised up for more clearance with the bump stops correct?

Yes. You loosen that nut and slide the arm in the slot. When I got my truck in July it was about halfway in that slot, which made the rear sit level with the front. I think leveled trucks look odd. It also puts the bump stops pretty close to the axle so the ride can be harsh. You don't need to jack the truck up or anything- I did it in my driveway. It's super simple.

Brought mine home this week, one side was adjusted properly, the other was not. Shrug…. Btw those adjustment things are way smaller than the pics show.

Yes and there is one on each side of truck so be sure to adjust both.

Good point. That probably seems obvious to most but definitely needs to be reinforced for me. I'm not the best wrench around.

Does this only apply to AVS rear suspension? Because my 23 Platinum without AVS makes a terrible clunking/shuddering noise when hitting moderate sized bumps.

This pertains to those with the rear air suspension... The AVS is the electronic controlled shocks. Two separate things.

I just did a final adjustment as my first try was still too low. As @PERRY1060 has his, mine you can just see a quarter moon and it now has a little rake and no more bottoming out.
Center of wheel to fender is now 23 inches. Just have to up the headlamps again and I'll be done.
Now this baby rides so good!
It's under 50mm so close enough!!
Thank you for this great forum everyone is awesome!!!

Glad I found this forum, the 2 dealerships I visited with the bump stop issue played dumb for me as well. I applied the adjustment to my 22 1794 tundra myself and was curious if anyone else experienced a difference in height on each side from wheel to fender distance? I have about an inch+ difference from the drivers side than the passenger side height. Driver side being lower. I was thinking this was perhaps due to the fuel tank weight? Or do I need to make adjustments so both sides are level. Any advice would help! TIA

Fuel tank is on the passenger side, although the fill tube is on the driver side. I would say you'll want them a little closer. Bump stop clearance is best at about 40-mm above frame.

I'm less than 3/4" and I called it good enough. Make sure to adjust your headlamps too. Philips screw driver and turn it clockwise.
    * only way to get it perfect would be A: Techstream or B: prob each sensor and match the voltages.
Yes the selling Dealership played Dumb for me too as I drove almost 4 hours one way.
Pm me if you want the PDF file "rear suspension feels rough over bumps"

Is the standard suspension adjustable like this also. I currently have a 22 SR5. Picking up the 24 Platinum with the air suspension next month.

I would adjust both sides of truck the same on the height sensor and be done with it. One other possible explanation for side to side difference could be not all driveways, garage floors or surfaces are level that look flat or level. Maybe check measurement parked in different places to rule out surface inconsistencies if your sensors are adjusted the same.
