I’ve got a 23 Platinum. Only had it a month (though I’ve already got 1900 miles on it), but the only issue I’ve had is the cabin noise. Window seals look poorly done, so they hadn’t fixed that yet.
That said, we got a 23 Sequoia a couple of weeks ago. It was delayed by a few days, and I was told by a person from another dealership that they’d been held up because they were re-doing the window seals on them. The Sequoia does not have the cabin noise, and the window seals look like they should.
Long story short, while they didn’t get the cabin noise issue fixed on the Tundra (at least in my case), they do seem to be addressing it on vehicles going forward.

Kinda frustrating for us tundra owners. I've been long debating between an f150 platinum, a ram limited, and the tundra. But the day to day life in a tundra seems like they didn't put the effort in like the others did

    Cabin noise
    Turning radius
    Cabin quality
    Bed step
    Infotainment interaction

i mean, they didnt. The big 3 trucks are the big 3's bread and butter. They live and breath on half tons so a huge amount of resources go that way. They are constantly updating and innovating.

Ford for example: 2011 the 3.5 Ecoboost and 5.0 Coyote Debut, 2013 the Ecoboost got some changes including larger turbos, 2015 the 13th gen aluminum trucks come out along with the 2.7 Ecoboost, 2017 the 2nd gen 3.5L comes out with the 10 speed, 2018 the 2nd gen 2.7 and 3rd gen 5.0 comes out with the 10 speed and 3.5L Turbos get bigger, 2021 the 14th gen comes out and all engines are again updated and the powerboost comes out.

Between 2011 and 2021 Toyota did virtually nothing meaningful with the Tundra. When the 2022 was introduced they basically brought it up to the same standards as a 2017 F150 with the 2nd gen 3.5L and 10 speed. Not saying its a bad truck but they certainly didnt knock it out of the park.

And IMHO the iForce Max is a waste of time. While I dont think I would buy a Powerboost, there at least seems to be substantial performance, efficiency and utility(7200 watt generator) gains. I can't say I have seen any evidence of that with the iForce Max.

I know it's impossible for Toyota to have made less than anything perfect with their "Kaizen" TM methodology, but the 22's are less than stellar. Gave mine a 4 month shake and after power seat failure, infotainment freezing and glitching with higher frequency, and ridiculous amount of wind noise for a $75K truck I got rid of it. Had a lot of great features, but overall it's not up to par. iForce Max was a complete fluke, zero improvement in fuel economy was a swing and a miss, low end power was fine but didn't change anyone's life. Averaging 16 mpg on stock tires with extremely conservative driving was beyond disappointing. And the digital gauge display having no customization options left a lot to be desired. Enjoyed the truck for the most part, but way too many things popping up to keep a time bomb. Toyota needs to do better, they've created a great reputation and produce great 4 runners, and gen 2-2.5 Tundra's, but the Gen 3 wasn't refined enough at release. And no, COVID can't be the excuse for every shortcoming.

Edit: Forgot to mention the countless rattles from everything including center console, bed, and rear window assembly. Center console has to be shimmed to not squeak every time you touch. And the seats are not comfortable at all compared to all the other full size trucks, at least my Capstone seats were very firm, and short leg length wise (leg extender broke as well).

Yup, heated steering wheel was deleted. Apple Carplay is full screen in the '23 though which is a minor complaint in my '21.

Get yourself a press truck. They have heated steering wheels.

It really blows my mind that heated steering is deleted in the Raptor R. Insane.

My 2021 console plastic was broke. My 21 f150 console plastic squeaked. My 22 pro door had small rattle with deep base.

my 22 suburban rental was prob the cheapest plastic I’ve encountered. Loved that 6.2 but my god that interior was terrible. Comfortable seats though which surprised me.
I had two suburban, one with 600 miles and one with 35k. The one with higher mileage reminded me why I wouldn’t buy a GM

So which do you like best?

I ask because I have a 23 sequoia platinum and 23 tundra platinum on reserve due to arrive at the same time.

I’m still debating which to take. I like the utility of the tundra but the looks and maneuverability of the sequoia better. Tundra is $9k cheaper too lol

This. Folks want to compare it to the second gen, but for me that's irrelevant. It's about offering the best new 1/2 ton on the market.

    Rci skid plate,
i fully agree with your post. My father in law has the 5.7. I have towed with both trucks and hands down the 3rd gen is light years beyond then 5.7 and rpm’s never get above 2700-2900 on the biggest hills at speed. Also anyone that complains of turbo lag on these trucks have never driven a bigger turbo truck or car. At 1200 rpm’s boost is there and used. Also even going down hills with tow haul or + modes is so much better than previous trucks. I have a data stream pod in my truck ect never gets over 199-201 and manifold temps are almost consistently no more then 20 degrees over ambient temp on the biggest hills. Toyota hit itnout of the park on the power but did leave a lot on the table for infotainment. Not let down at all for power on this bad ass truck.

The quality stuff he showed in the beginning is just terrible. I also have no idea why he hasn’t had his dealer fix that. His front seat looks like a total POS. I’d be so annoyed if that was my truck.

I'm sure I'll get there with the 3rd gen, but for now, this is how the math works out for me:

[Truck with nearly indestructible engine that requires higher RPMs to tow but still gets the job done for an extremely long service life] > [new truck with growing pains and engine that tows without as much effort but has not yet shown itself to be indestructible in the least]

The "it destroys the previous gen in every way" statements are a more than a bit hyperbolic, IMO. You probably can't tow over 8k without being over GVWR on either truck. And sure, the 3rd gen will get to the top of the mountain with a load faster and more efficiently than my old ass dinosaur v8. But which truck will most likely still be putt-putting up the mountain after 500k miles on routine maintenance?

Before anyone gets extremely offended, I do think Toyota will mop up the issues, and I don't think their pedigree of long-term dependability has gone totally out the window. It's just taken a bit of a hit due to releasing a brand new, extremely complicated truck in a global pandemic with still-lingering supply issues.

It’s true. You can order an f150 at 3% below invoice, a Ram at 10-11% off msrp (TRX included), same with GM.

You can find tundras at 2-3k off msrp now. Certain ones like sr5 and capstone

Eh I just glance at the Facebook pages. I mean the dealers post them there. If a tundra is for sale and it’s on the lot, you can discount it.

High demands are sold before it’s built lol

What’s your idea of high mileage? 200k? 250k? Substitute that then.
