The hype is that they’re actually great in desert conditions. Think of how many hunters and off-roaders on this forum live in CA/AZ/NV/UT/NM/CO. Almost every single person who honestly loves that tire lives in that part of the US.

I fully agree—KO2s are terrible in wetter climates for exactly the reasons you mention—they get downright terrifying in the rain after like 20k miles, and their tread pattern seems like it was made to keep as much mud in the tread as possible.

Yeah I'll never do BFG ATs again. I'd try to take off at a light with some light rain and I'd peel out.

I found the KO2 to be a very good snow and ice tire. Mediocre in mud, great in rocks.

Goodyear UltraTerrain AT's have been great so far. I'm running 275/70's E load, 55lbs each.

No complaints, they've got great traction. I haven't been in any serious mud with them but I'm sure they're above average for an AT.

Appreciate the feedback. I’m not going to be looking for mud in a 7800 lb truck, but it would be nice to not have to worry about it as much either. :D

They don't come in my factory size 265/70/18, but if I step the size up to 275/70/18 it works. Also has the load index of 125 that I am looking for.

Not bad a 283.00 each minus my military discount.

Falken Wildpeak AT3 are awesome. Avoid Hankook Dynapro AT2, they are dangerously slippery in wet weather after approximately 20,000 miles.

I have the Wildpeak at3w on my 21 in a 295/70r18 And i love them. They have been on for about 15k now and they perform awesome. They are also nice and quiet on the highway. They are great in the rain, I will for sure be getting another set when its time but that will be a while as after 15k they still look brand new. They balanced real well and i just cant say enough good things about them. I use to run Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 4Runner but the Wildpeak is by far superior especially in the rain. And the Wildpeak is severe snow service rated which is a big plus.

Yeah, they check all the boxes for me too. Solid sidewalls when towing, not that I'm towing in your range though.

That's what I went with, after the Cooper AT3s went to crap after 5K miles. In total honesty, I think it was the numbnuts at DT that can't balance tires that was the downfall with the Coopers. I finally took the Yokos to 4WP here in Austin, and they did me right.

Same here. I've driven in snow, sand, rain, and rocks. I've had a little trouble in nasty mud mixed with cow shit but that's it.

In the rain, if I gas it from a dead stop the tires may spin but I've never had a tire that didn't do that. Trucks are light in the rear and have a lot of torque.

I'll probably try a different all terrain when I wear these out but I really don't get the complaints about KO2's. Tires are almost as divisive as politics.

I don't know what it is, but the wildpeaks just don't seem that aggressive to me. People seem to love them though.

I've always thought that too, plus the tread depth looks a little shallow.

I'll second for the KO2 especially if you are looking at snow performance, aggressive look, not bad road noise, decent tread life. I keep reading that they're bad in the rain but I drive my Tundra like it's a Tundra, not like a Shelby GT350, so have not noticed any problem at all, from light rain to some very heavy downpours where they seem to displace a ton of water as I have traveled on highway with lots of standing H2O/puddles.

Since Goodyear moved Coopers AT3 XLT production overseas, my local dealer isn’t carrying Coopers anymore. Bummer.

JMHO, But BFG's now are the same compound from years past. I would get 55K+ from the older tire and they were great in all conditions.

My vote is the real Falken's Wild Peaks AT3w. I have Toyo Open Country R/T and with 28K miles on them and still look brand new!

Falken Wild Peak just came out with a R/T model that's due to come out anytime now. They look pretty sweet.

BF KOs have been a great tire for me. I have had five sets of them. They are the best looking AT tire, they do great in the mud and they are great in the rain. This of course is in my humble opinion.
