2010 4x4 5.7 starter quit at 210K and replaced with OEM... after spending 3 days trying to disassemble half the engine... i came up with a different way of taking the starter out of the car and saving lots of time with minimal disassembly.

    Didn't watch...

Is this regarding removal of the voltage regulator before extracting the main bulk of the starter??

Wow this is incredible. Mind sharing how many total hours to do this job with your approach?

I used your video to wrap my steering wheel. Thank you for the help!

well it took almost 3 days cos i took apart the whole bottom end... i did not include it in the video... i took the cooler lines off and that was a goat rope... it just could not snake it or position it , to to get it out. the exhaust was in the way and i started down that road but quickly realized i was going to add more to the project and stopped. .as a last ditch effort i took the the starter solenoid off to get it out just like in the video. and had it back together in 45min.
I think if i had to do it again my way i could do it in 2h. but since most people are in it for the first time a realistic 4h is more probable.

I think the average life cycle of these starters are aboit 210k.. Average mileage Sequoias and Tundras replace them... I pulled the whole unit out of the front, but did have to undo the wire harness brackets, 2 black tabs on the rail.
