Hello! I've got a 2018 TRD Off Road Crew Cab that the wife wants to lift. I'm leaning towards the Rough Country 3.5" Lift kit with the lifted struts in front and N3 rear struts.

My question is what size tires to run? I currently have the 275/65 R18 and was looking at doing the 285/65 R18 to keep the stock wheels. I also do not want to look like I'm running spare tires LOL. Any suggestions? Pics would be great!! Thanks!!

35’s or dont bother. Anything smaller looks anemic. If they rub (it’ll be minimal) just start chopping things until they fully clear.

With 3” lift….anything smaller than 35 looks like chicken legs. Do it right the first time.

New wheels!! (it's your money) but 20's are for street queens. Factory wheels are better built than 90% of what's out there. If you find a good deal on some new wheels, it's cause their crap.

Haha it is the wife's truck really, I daily a 21 Camry XSE (114mi round trip), and it is a street queen, or parking lot princess as I've heard. Basically like 95% of the lifted Jeeps...

Just keep in mind that if you do go with 35’s….you would most likely need to buy new upper control arms (~$800) and do body mount chop (~$350) to clear 35s.

If you go with 34s or 33s…you might avoid body mount chop but most likely still need upper control arms, which required for alignment if you lifting your truck more than 2”

You will also need wheel spacers or new wheels factories won’t work with 35s

I'm looking at the Rough Country 3.5" lift that has the UCA's and front coil overs. I haven't heard of a body mount chop. I'm good with trimming/grinding inside panels etc. Guess I'll have to look that up.

Hhmm, I don't think spacers will pass inspection here in PA. I had an old Trailblazer that I had a shop tell them it wouldn't pass with them. I'm teetering on having a local shop do the work (they do a good amount of Tundra's) and just see what they recommend.

i put 295's on my 3inch lift...I have toytec coilovers with shims...3 inch shackles in back. These are standard toyota 18 inch rims with spacers.

I say 35’s look right at 3” lift. I’m there now, but with 275/65-20 (34”).

I’ll bump up to a 35” tire with 18” wheels soon. I’ve waffled back and forth on exact size, but have settled on “skinny” 35s. 285/75-18.
Another nice option that is popular is 295/70-18.

Just an update. Ended up going with the Rough Country 3.5" lift with the struts, 20" Fuel Diesel with Nitto Recon Grapplers (33's). They cut a little bit of plastic and I took the factory mud flaps off. It's what the wife wanted. Happy wife, happy life! IMG_7988.HEIC.jpgIMG_7987.HEIC.jpg IMG_7986.HEIC.jpg
