the boss AT or boss MT?. My trail country's now rebranded Baja Legends are a hybrid AT/MT and are still fairly loud on the road. Not Patagonia loud, but still mildly annoying.

I'm running the exact same configuration as @KNABORES but I don't see much light from them. Bumper light bar works wonders for high beams though.

Aftermarket housings huh. I hear so many mixed things about running aftermarket housing that I've stayed away from them but I'm wondering if my stock ones are causing my issues. I have sanded and clear coated them but they never did really clean up great. It got rid of the yellowing but still has a haze to it.

 

It definitely has a lot to do with it. I lost 220lbs with the rack/tent. Still have the swing cases and “winter” box but not much weight compared to before, only 150lbs. A camper shell is gonna be put on soon so that will help some with the ass end.

Plan is to crank the hell out of the Icons and see where Im at with lift and ride. If I can’t achieve the lift and ride I’m after, Kings it is. It’s been a regret since buying the icons 3 years ago.

 

I swear I got boned on one side of Oem headlight. Leaks a bit and had that trouble with the ball joint. I might replace it while they are still available.

surprised @empty_lord is using that thing. I’m running a cheap Chinese harness. Need to get my HS installed. Not enough time.

Found my slow coolant leak, pretty stoked it’s not something else.
I did the dirty Darryl coolant bypass, a while back, the hose clamp isn’t the easiest to get to and can interfere with the coolant temp sensor plug. I think I got it right today, sprayed the area with water, and will check back in a few days to see what’s cooking


I discovered this while waiting for paint to dry, I painted all my background sheet metal on the front of the truck………. Black!!!! I’m hoping this will make the bumper stand out better since I won’t have contrasting grhay colors behind it to distract. I’m not sure that made any sense, but I’d like to just trust my actions

Hot coolant is passed thru the throttle body normally, supposedly to keep the butterfly free in movement. Also sending hotter air into the intake………
Cooler intake temps, cooler air, burn, better combustion(this is if i was subbing for bill Nye……)

 

don't plan any trips up north or you'll find out why the run coolant through the throttle body.

cold + hot mixing = frost. frost in your throttle body = dead butterflies = stranded on the side of the road in -50F windchill.


A lot of people in the warmer climates will bypass this since cooler air is denser, allowing for more HP theoretically. Frost isn't exactly an issue in Las Vegas or San Diego.

I’m gonna throw out a wild guess and say it’s because the air and fuel mix better when the throttle body isn’t frozen. We don’t freeze down here. Could be completely wrong

You can always move to Flagstaff to cool off somewhat during the summer. At 7000 ft, they should be cool enough.

 

It’s a beautiful place to visit, but I’d never live there. Also, that’s why we have T2S!

There are plenty of vehicles without any heat to the throttle body and they don't have problems with freezing.

Only thing I've ever had it happen to is a snowblower.
