    Hi,

Can the community comment on if the following build is a good deal or if I should haggle some more?

    2023 Tundra 4x4 SR5- $46,370
    3.4 L 6-cyl A
    10 Speed ECT-i

    $699 - Toyogaurd Platinum
$1510 - Convenience Package - BSM, Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic, Braking, and Large fuel tank (32.2 gallons)

    MSRP: $50,424

    Tax: $500
    Doc fee: $399
    Tag: $27.50

    Other discounts applied.

    $50,500

Is $50,500 a good price for this build? Since it is not on the lot and they have to order it, I won't be able to lock in the financing until it arrives at the dealership (this is what I was told by their sales manager). My deposit is refundable and can be applied toward downpayment. Other dealerships were saying non-refundable. Other prices I was getting for the same trim and package was +$2,000 more.

Been reading through some of the threads and am looking forward to being part of the community. Thank you in advance for your responses.

    TL;DR - Keep shopping!

it's okay. Not too sure about SR5, but it looks to me like you are paying about $2,000 too much! You are getting close to MSRP, but it is an SR5 w/ almost nothing. Sounds like BS about not locking in a rate. Never heard of a dealer that didn't want you to commit to price and financing. What is going on with those taxes?? How did you manage that?

First off: Welcome to the forum!

Secondly: I'd probably keep fishing. You're getting a really base truck (unless that's what you want). For not much more money you can get quite a bit more...like the TRD OR or TRD Sport package.

I paid $50,028 for the following (screenshot of my build sheet below). The only "add on" from the dealer that isn't listed on the build sheet was a $400 tint job.

Thanks for the response! Was yours an SR5 4x4 Double cab or a different trim and drive train? Your vehicle base price is way lower than mine. My only real requirement is 4x4 double cab 6.5’ bed, push button start, keyless entry, and BSM.

Yes. Mine is a 2022 SR5 4WD Double Cab. I cropped out the top of the build sheet because it has my VIN on it, but here's the full build sheet. Ignore the pic of the 2021 truck. The system was still showing MY21 on the 2022 build sheets for quite awhile.

wow! Nice. Probably a few months, I might be able to save a little more I guess. The base price on the 2023 is a good bit higher now.

Awhile ago. I got my build sheet with the actual VIN in late Nov 21 and I took delivery of my truck on 12/15/21.

Make sure your sr5 has a 32 gallon tank. I have the 32 gallon and wish I had a 50, light goes to E with 400 miles.

Other ppl chiming in need to realize Toyota raised MSRP in the middle of the year on top of annual year increases. The base sr5 has gone up a few k, ppl who purchased in 2021 or 2022, it doesn't make sense for you guys to show your purchases anymore imo

Can the 32 gallon tank be installed after market? I don't drive that often, so I don't have a big need for the larger tank, but I definitely have been looking at it as you can see from my first build. With the money I'm saving, I think I could install it aftermarket for cheaper at this point.

You can install aftermarket tanks on top of bed, not sure if aftermarket has a 32 gallon tank that mounts under the bed like OEM.

Truck drinks gas, has 32 gallon tank but E comes on with 6+ gallons left thanks to retarded Toyota programming (don't care about you tundra fanbois that defend Toyota for doing it this way - 6+ gallons for reserve).

Check fuelly, like 99% gen3 tundra owners are well below EPA figures of 17/22

I cant even stand the 400 mile range - I came from a ram ecodiesel where 26 gallons got 6-700 miles, and I refueled like once a month,

With 300 range your gas station attendant must be your new best friend :D

I heard Ram has stop making ecodiesel's. To may problems(fires) and to many law suits. I wish Toyota would make a diesel tundra, that got 30 mpg.

All I have to add is…

-The bigger tank is worth it.. Regret not getting it
-Toyo guard is useless, it’s like 4 small bottles of stuff you probably already have
-The spray in bedliner is useless, it’s prone to chip and peel

Ram is rotating funds and resources to their EV and turbo engine future. Something had to get unfunded.

I think I will have to upgrade the fuel tank capacity at a later time. I don't see anyone coming close to the price I am getting for the most recent build I am looking at. The first build is +$2,000 more, but doesn't have TRD off-road package or spray in bed liner. You guys really have me thinking though about the fuel tank capacity.

I had the bed liner for my 2020 Taco and didn't have any issues with it chipping or fading.

Ahh, maybe it's the composite bed liner. Good catch!

You paid $600 for a spray-on bedliner on a plastic truck bed? I thought spray on bedliners was for paint and rust issues on metal beds? No wonder I can no longer afford to drive a tundra lol

I had a TransAm back in the day with a 22 gal tank, 4 bbl carb, 4-speed manual trans, and no overdrive. No low fuel lights back then, but I had to seriously be looking for gas at around 200 miles.

Yup. I'd do it again too. I had a 2005 Taco for years and, to be honest, I disliked the composite bed. To each their own.

    An update!!

    MSRP - ~$52,400
    Out the door - $50,700

    2023 Tundra SR5 DC 4x4

SR5 BSM Tow mirrors (don't really need these)
    TRD Sport Package
    Convenience package
    other add ons

Considering I am getting the truck with TRD Sport and Convenience package for almost $2000 less than MSRP for total price of the truck (and I'm not getting other things I don't want, except for the tow mirrors) I'm leaning toward this one as opposed to the one that was cheaper with just TRD off-road and spray in bed liner.

Thoughts? Is this a good deal?

TRD off road w/o Convenience package or TRD Sport w/ Convenience package? From what I’ve been reading, it sounds like I might like the ride of the off road better, but I haven't test driven either one, so I do not know for sure.

Nobody is getting below MSRP these days. What's the catch? TRD Sport and TRD off road won't matter if you aren't doing offroading. TRD Sport has better shocks than stock and might have higher resale value depending on where you are from.

    Slightly different take but I leased a 2023 Tundra SR5 4x4 Crewcab 5.5 for $599/month for 24 months/12k miles, no money down and a $500 broker fee.

I think I am being ghosted my sales rep. Tried calling to get more info and lock in my deal. No reply going on three days now. Hopefully, they will respond soon. Could it mean they have another buyer willing to pay more?

After a long wait, I am currently headed to the dealership to pick up my new Tundra. Really excited. I was able to pay under MSRP! This forum has been so helpful. I have the inspection checklist to go over which is going to be really important to me since I will never be able to get back to this dealership. I’m looking forward to my road trip to get back home.

Hopefully, this will help someone when they are shopping for a Tundra in 2023.

    2023 Tundra SR5 DC 4x4

SR5 BSM Tow mirrors (nice to have, but I’d rather have PVM cameras and smaller mirrors-not used to taking up another 3 ft on the road)
    TRD Sport Package
Convenience package w/ 32 gallon tank

    out the door: $49,797

It took a very long time to find this deal, but it was worth it to get it well below MSRP.
