My brother had his entire exhaust system stolen the other day. The mechanic quoted him $3300 to have it replaced. From my research and friends that are "car guys" that seems like a lot of money. He recently paid $1200 to have his alternator replaced. From what I have read the labor cost for the exhaust replacement are minimal, so I'm lead to believe the high cost is parts. I know catalytic converters are expensive, but does he need high end replacement parts on a 15 yr old truck? I will tell you his truck is in pristine condition so I'm certain it has decent value. He has a 2007 Toyota Tundra, 4 door. What say you?

They unbolted it from the manifolds or cut the pipes and took it from the cats back?

I believe they cut the pipes so that means the catalytic converters are gone, correct? He doesn't have any "cats"

You'll have to forgive me but I don't know a lot about cars. I know the muffler is gone. The truck sounds like a motor boat. He said the whole exhaust system was taken.

So yes it sounds like they stole the cats. He would need the mid-pipe assemblies and they most likely cut the 02 sensor wires. These trucks do not like aftermarket cats. Check with insurance, it may cover most of the repairs.

Have him order some cat protection plates as well to install after it's fixed.

I’m located approximately 30 miles south of Cleveland ohio. I have this mid pipe muffler section that only has a few thousand miles on it sitting in my basement. You can have it for free if you want to meet up locally, let me know. I have a 2019 tundra 4.6 double cab.

Hate these CAT thieves. They make a couple of dollars and cost us thousands.

I have a "federal" approved driver side catalytic converter for sale. $150 plus shipping. I had my cats stolen last July. The passenger side cat came in December so I ordered this cat (shipped to AZ, don't tell anyone LOL)so I could get my truck back. A month later the drivers side came in so I have no need for it. I'm in CA
