Did you know that technically a banana is a berry but a raspberry is not?

"In botany, a berry is a fleshy fruit without a stone (pit) produced from a single flower containing one ovary. Berries so defined include grapes, currants, and tomatoes, as well as cucumbers, eggplants (aubergines) and bananas, but exclude certain fruits that meet the culinary definition of berries, such as strawberries and raspberries."

I did not. Another fine lesson from our bearded brainiac. :hattip:

One of my step grandfathers was a knowledge sponge. He was a electrical engineer at a nuclear power plant. Kinda what started my path after the military. It was amazing how many books he read.

but you still get 1 fob. on the domestics, they offer features that dont work with a promise to work later when they get a chip to enable it. thats apples to oranges comparison for the situation i am describing.

by your argument they would have to not even give you 1 fob for the argument to be valid.

A good way to approach life is to try to learn something new every day... or at least as often as possible.

I’m perplexed by how important it is to you that everyone knows your opinion of the newer models.
I currently own all but the first gen Tundra and Sequoia. If I had to choose, I’d absolutely say the 2nd Gen Tundra and Sequoia are the best all around, but they all have their pros and cons. That said, the 2011 Tundra is the only one I’ve ever had break down on me.
You have a 2007. It’s an outstanding vehicle that will likely outlast you. Not sure why it means so much to you that everyone knows the new ones suck.

I’m happy with mine, and have no real issues so far, though it’s admittedly only been three months and 5,000 miles. It has nowhere near the acceleration of my 2011, but absolutely smokes my 17 and 21.
The 23 Sequoia has much better acceleration than my other two Sequoias, better tech and styling, but has less space and doesn’t ride as smoothly.

I have been happy with all of them though and understand there’s trade offs between all the models. Just really don’t get why you spend so much time worrying about something that doesn’t factor into your life.

It's the quirky stuff that lodges easily in my rodent-like brain.

The berry tidbit and hot water freezing faster than cold water I learned from watching the news waiting for the school bus.

our 2016 tacoma was great, unless you need room for fat usa people. driver and passenger seat are cramped, even compared to my 2014 4runner. rear seat on the tacoma is a tad better than the front seat as long as you only fit 2 people in the back.

we moved up to the tundra mostly for more rear room for the 2 gsp (sometimes 3) on hunting trips and a side benefit of more space in the seat for driver/passenger.

otherwise we would have stuck to the tacoma.

Same theme over and over, Toyota switched gears this time from
Chasing Big 3 market share to trying to keep Toyota loyalists motivated to upgrade Tacomas and Gen2 Tundras because all
The new ground they broke in 07 only got them a fraction of the sales they hoped for.

I just have to wonder how long GM holds out before ditching that 6.2. It’s probably a very relaxed tow motor compared to similar spec TTv6s but you have to weigh this against its not being top dog in straight line performance anymore compared to these V6s which is what more of the market will probably care about. I was a big fan of it myself and it almost got me into a Chevy, took a lot to wrap my head around giving up the grumble and the badging for more power and better mpg.

Not saying you’re wrong, but I have yet to see ONLY F150 sales. Every time I have looked, it’s the sales figure for the whole F Series line up , up to the F-450. Same goes for Chevy and Dodge. I can’t find just their 1/2 ton sales only.

I passed a pickup and a logging truck the other day on a two-lane highway. We were all going 60-65 before I passed. I tromped on it and had NO difficulty hitting 90 by the time I got by those two vehicles. Not bad acceleration to me.

What I don't get is this.
When I bought my truck in 2018 ( seems so long ago now)
I drove it and the Big 3 competitors over the same road course, including off road course, and one area that included a hill,
where at the top was very bad train tracks you had to drive over.
The Tundra suspension felt tight over the tracks - "bada bip" and it was over.
All the Big three were like - bada bing boing bong
The suspension rattled and vibrated more on each of the Big Three. The Tundra felt more like a single piece steel.
    This influenced my decision.
I have had Big 3 truck owners who have driven my truck comment on this as well.

    ***********************************************

    From this article.

Where the Chevy exudes a quiet solidity, the Tundra feels flinty and hollow. That isn't hyperbole—slamming the TRD Pro's various doors elicited different tinny sounds, with our truck's driver's side rear door sounding the least substantial.

And whenever the frame was stressed, the Toyota emitted a loud creaking noise, which we traced to squidgy mounting of the front TRD-branded skidplate.

    **********************************************************

Have things changed that much? Who else cross tested these trucks. Is this true ?

So you need to put premium gas in the Chevrolet 6.2L. It's not optional ?

What I don't really understand is why this guy who apparently will take his Gen 2 to the grave... which is fine... insists on repeatedly trashing the 3rd gens here?? What's the point? We all know they aren't perfect. We all probably would have made some different design decisions. We all have some things that we aren't ever going to be totally happy with. But this is what is on offer from Toyota now and has to be considered against the competition in that light. So, talk about something constructive... or go away.

I imagine you’re talking about coal dragger. To keep it short, maybe some of us were expecting a real total redesign like they did when the 07 came out. Not this metrosexual truck that Toyota gave you. So yeah some of us aren’t going away. This is a free country, don’t like the bashing, move alone yourself.

Wait, you haven't even driven one?

I guess we know exactly how much credence to give to your opinion. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. None. You have no idea what you're talking about. All you're doing is parroting reviews which are suspect at best (no matter what brand they review) and shit posting any negative press you can find. You don't have a single original thought on these trucks. My 10 month old daughter has more experience in a 3rd Gen than you. I dismiss you and your nonsensical blather henceforth.

    Good day, sir.

I like @Coal Dragger he is a good guy.

If this forum was all fanboys singing the praises of Tundras it would be like the F150 forums.

Great. I love it - smells a bit bad inside.

Did you get to see my machine gun video?

    Too many, but not enough....
You clearly either didnt read the posts or understand the context of what was said so why dont you stop concerning yourself with what you think people said or mean and stop looking for reasons to piss and moan with your self righteousness on the internet. Its a fact that in the last couple of years there has been more people who bought things, cars or whatever, that they couldnt actually afford.

I, and I suspect most people reading your nonsense fail to give a s**t about other people’s finances as it has nothing to do with anything surrounding your hatred for the 3rd gen lol. Just a petty dig at people you don’t know.
