    Hi all,

    I'm Trever. I recently bought a 2000 Tundra SR5 4x4 and have been having a ton of fun using it for work and as a daily.

    My rear sliding window has a broken latch and I was wondering if any of you knew where to source one? Is this a junk yard part?

    I'll take a picture of it later and post it for anyone else who finds this forum post in the future.

    Thank you all in advanced. I dug the forum and thought I'd join and add my 2 cents into the mix.

    * The window is OEM

    We're assuming it's an OEM window. If it is, and you want to see if it's an available OEM part, check this: https://www.tundras.com/threads/howto-use-the-toyota-parts-system-to-find-order-parts.113808/

    Thank you for putting up that link. My local dealer wanted somewhere around $325 for a rebuilt 100 amp alternator. I checked out that link and ended up buying the same alternator from a Yota dealership in KS for $218 plus tax and free shipping.:thumbsup:

    It kinda sucks that way, if you don't have any nearby dealers that participate in the Toyota Parts program, you can really pay out the nose buying local.

    With reman alternators, Denso manufactures them. You can look up Denso's part number using the Find My Part link at their site (link to site)

    Once you have the Denso p/n, RockAuto I've found to be the cheapest most-reliable source and sometimes half what the dealership charges.

    Add to that, if you go to www.RetailMeNot.com you can usually get a 5% off coupon for RockAuto all day long, bringing the price down even more.

    If you have no option but to order from the Toyota Parts site, there are dealerships (like many dealerships in Alabama) who'll ship anything over $75 free and NO TAX.

    Oh and @1000hourshower I took a sec to look up your truck in the Toyota Parts system. Here's the exploded diagrams they have for your truck for rear window:

    https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota_2...11363/ROOF-PANEL--BACK-PANEL/841420-6153.html

    Click 'View Larger Image', then click 'View More Images' if you can't see a bunch of extra diagrams to look at.

    From my view, the latch doesn't appear to be sold separately. You can buy a whole new slider. It looks like out of my 3 closest dealerships, one lets me pick up at $634, another at $644, and the 3rd one always wants MSRP so they're asking a full $804 (what a ripoff! it's why I never buy parts from World Toyota of Atlanta!)
