Hi all, need to remove the entire antenna. Unscrewed antenna, opened the fender cover, unbolted antenna from underneath and something is holding it in place. What am I missing?

    thanks!C49BCCA1-9D7B-4A9E-9EC3-85F8A8DEBB49.jpg0E009964-7837-4B82-88B1-330281B238E9.jpg

If you unbolted it at the inner fender, it might just be that grommet that’s holding it on

The chrome piece seems to be an 'ornament nut'.
It probably needs to come off and the antenna assembly lowers out of the fender.

Got a hole cut and piping ready… thinking I’ll put a bunch of silicone on the top end and strap the pipe down tight. Feel should be good enough…71EE834A-5ADE-4F29-8AEC-E942DE51558F.jpg

Seems like a nice Sunday mod so far. Changing out black pvc for white prob took the most time. Black 90* pvc is too wide to fit in the fender. C2926F63-0C72-4813-A51C-D44D15141D59.jpg

Cheers to OP for cutting up a perfectly good truck. I’m not even being sarcastic, I love to see folks do their own thing.

And, to this point, depending on what you are doing, if you don't need it and don't busted, pulling it out, I'd buy that from ya. Mine got removed fro installation of my fiberglass fenders. I have the antenna and the rubber grommet, but not whatever else is involved. I'd like to put the antenna back in for radio during in-town driving.

Used a piece of cardboard for “levy” size and used the cutout portion for the levy. Have no idea if this is worthy but it’s something.
