I'm not seeing a thread like this here so I thought I would get one started.

I'm in the market for a bed rack system for my 23 SR5 TRD OR.

    Let's see your bed racks!

Not mine, but if I can ever get a retrax xr delivered without them messing up the order this what I'm going with. Had the leitner setup on my tacoma and really liked it. Coupled with a tonneau and its my perfect setup.

I ended up with the Datin Fab rack. Install was easy, Fits over softopper, and I like the 3 crossbar look. So far just have traction boards and 270 awning on it. I will say neither their trex mounts or 270 awning mount fit my trex boards or awning... so the rack was worth it but $200 in wasted accessories. 20230122_112321.jpg

Just ordered a 14" aluminum rack with a cargo rack to go on top....I forgot to order a second set of pannels for the sides. Question, can you run two standard side panels in a 14" rack or two wide side panels?

What did you do for your drains? Did you have to drill through the liner or coating?

Is the cover Synecticusa? How is the quality, wondering how it compare to Retrax retractable covers?

Thanks for making this one, I’m in the market too. Bought a rooftop tent and figured I’ll take my time and find a decent rack. Well, here in Canada it’s not as easy.

They told me Thule is not out yet with an adapter so it’ll be Yakima.

They also gave me a price of $1920 Canadian Dollar. (Which I’m sure for some is worth it)

might be a decent price but more then I thought it would cost.

Is there anyone that has some great recommendations on a rack that I can buy in this side of the border or do I have to bite the bullet and get the Yakima Outpost

    Thanks guys!

Mine is from Expedition One that has side panels that swing up which allows access to the truck bed from the side. This bed rack also allows me to use a roll up tonneau cover.

In just a couple weeks we will be introducing a new rack system called the VRS.

The system is totally modular and it can be had in many configurations.

You can start with basic rails that can be used for mounting gear on the sides of the bed:

The next step would be rails with simple crossbars:

You also have the option for a cargo platform:

If you want a little more height and load capacity, you can get the Hi Rise Crossbar version:

We will also offer complete overlanding racks in 12", 18", and 22" heights.

If you want serious capacity, we have optional storage compartments, and a sliding tray with a flip- access door:

Built in to every VRS rack are pockets that accept Rigid and Pro-Comp lights:

All VRS racks are tonneau compatible, and there is even a specific version for Retrax covers. We are also developing a version that is specific to Diamondback covers.

There are options for accessories such as Traction Board Brackets, Tool Mounting Brackets, Hi-Lift Jack Mounting Brackets, Outboard Bike Mounts, RotoPax Mounts, 5 lb Propane Tank Mount, Awning Brackets, and Cargo Light Housings.

The VRS can be had in steel or aluminum.

I honestly don't even know. LOL. The RTT is around 240lbs and I've slept in the tent in windy/gusty conditions and the bed rack has held up fine.

Dont forget to check out Overland Racks Ontario. Not a big operation I think, but no cross border issues, and reviews seem very positive. I have no affiliation.

Looks like I should have waited a few weeks!

Do you all have a bigger cargo tray that can be used on the aluminum bedrack? This one is undersized 20230305_164427.jpg 20230305_164522.jpg 20230305_164510.jpg 20230305_164501.jpg 20230305_164509.jpg

check out RA motorsports. Edmonton based and they have a decent looking rack in 6 and 12”. Starts at $600 CDN.

I don’t have one so can’t vouch but it’s on my list as I try to sort out exactly what I need for a rack.

I LOVE my @KB Voodoo rack, pro max 22” over my Diamondback cover. With a couple bolts at the corners I take off my rack and tent as a unit to get my truck back in 5 minutes. Keeps my truck bed clean and I can covert from off road to overland mode easily using a winch hoist. Gear lockers, the cargo tray, I get compliments everytime I go out.

Here’s 2 decent shots for the profile view if it’s helps. I set the rack back a little as I have plans to utilize the space between the back of the cab and the rack for storage.

How did you mount the RTT? I have the same iKamper style RTT but the rails are at an awkward width where I couldn't slide the middle load bars out any further and had to drill custom holes. But it looks like you're not using any of the middle load bars in your setup.

Does the RTT ever get close to hitting the cab when the cab flexes during off-road trails? I want to do a setup like this as well, but worried it might flex too much and damage my roof.

Finally got my truck last week. Here is a picture of my @KB Voodoo Max Modular PRO-MAX 14" High PRO-MAX Aluminum bed rack.

For Kayaks I want to pick up this year I am considering a setup that seems most likely to work without having to replace my hard fold tonneau where I put one cross bar on the roof and have a hitch mounted bar serve as the other end. Only thing giving me pause is I have just always wanted to know from people who mount kayaks on racks higher than the cab whether they grow to hate getting them off and putting them on over time or whether there’s techniques that make it practical long Term.

Would you mind posting a side shot of this 14" tall rack? Trying to get an idea if the tent is flush with the cab roof, or how far above it might be.
