Sliders For 2023

CBI has been around a long time and is legit. Probably been around longer than most brands in this 3rd Gen forum... and longer than Insta and Youtube influencers.

 

Anyone here have a real slider installed and used them on their Gen 3? Get those Go Rhino's off this thread.

Yep, definitely go with the CBI sliders. They recently added a top plate so it also serves as side steps.

 

c4 for the win, cbi if you want to wait a year and get dragged through the mud

Crewmax w/ 6.5" bed needs to be around 100" to go from front to rear wheel well.

This is disappointing to hear. I wonder what the difference is that makes them slightly more expensive. maybe the mounts are different for the longer wheelbase model?...

 

I am building a set that will use the bolted mounts and a few frame mounts. Sort of a hybrid slider. I hope to have it done in a few weeks. It will be 104" long and in 2 pcs. I am working on making the outer section out of stainless steel tubing and the inner parts out of steel.

 

SDHQ recently posted a video on their instagram of their Tundra, their website lists a set of sliders as "coming soon"

I'm gonna bug https://www.relentlessfabrication.com/ about making a pair as they are local to me.

Kinda surprised there is no weld on model available yet or maybe I have not seen it.

I put their Supersliders on my wife’s 4Runner Trail and I can’t imagine anything being much stronger. Frame mounted and really heavy. Took 16 weeks to get.

 

i just ordered a Cat guard from RCI and they said there gen3 tundra sliders will be out at the end of February.
I think these will be the only ones with a kickout.
Cbi and westcott do not have a kickout, which is why I wont buy those.

 

C4 is super expensive like $1800 and they do not offer powder coat, so no go for me on C4.
I do like how the look though.

 

Just went and checked out RCI based on this post. Definitely looks like a promising option based on their 2nd Gen slider design and pricing. Unfortunately for me I doubt they will be building them for the longer wheelbase model. Hopefully I'm wrong!

They also appear to be the most stout looking at their site. Price is attractive compared to others as well.

FYI, RCI sliders for Crewmax 6.5' bed also not longer than 5.5' options per RCI. Still my frontrunner at the moment I think. Hoping for official info and pricing soon.

I'll never need rock sliders but like the look better than most running boards. Has anyone seen running boards that sit high and tight?

 

I got the Go Rhino D6 steps and they tuck right up to the rockers and the brackets don’t extend below the platforms.

Just got mine today, took like 3 months.

Do you have any install tips you can post? did you go with the crappy hardware they give you?

 

Had to cancel my order after nearly 3 months when they figured out that the frame plates wouldn't fit Crewmax 6.5' bed trucks. They assured me when I ordered them that they would fit no problem then figured out they were wrong.

 

Maybe someday, they will expand their products to include this longer set of sliders. I think they will need to cover the full length ~104" to be a slider. If they give you a shorter one, and you go out and smash the area not covered by the slider, they will hear all the bad press on how crappy their sliders are and that they need more protection. I don't see why the shorter Crewmax sliders wouldn't work if you don't mind that gap at the back?? I know the running boards will work.
