I may have missed this on another thread... Has anyone hooked up a rv camera to their digital rear view mirror? If so, Is there a specific camera or adapter that you used?

I guess if you ran a very long cable from the truck, across the hitch, and all the way to the back of the travel trailer (temporarily mind you, just while the trailer is connected) this would theoretically be possible. But I don't think this is what you are talking about.

Please see all of GG.Offroad's threads to see what he is envisioning.

I'm aware of what he's doing to relocate the digital rear-view and bed cameras rearward for those that have toppers. I just don't understand your view that this could also be used for displaying a travel trailer rear-view camera on the digital rear-view mirror. At least not without what I stated above. Please enlighten me.

I have approached GG.Offroad about the same option you are interested in.

He is in the process of designing a system (wired) that would involve having an ADDTIONAL Rearview Camera mounted on the rear of your TT, with cable run under your TT to the Tongue, where there would be a waterproof connector (similar to your 7-pin Trailer connector) that connects to another cable from the Rearview Mirror (which connects at the ORIGINAL Rearview Camera) at the top rear of your truck cab.

The cables are apparently NOT standard cables (they have a special coaxial shield), and the Camera Connectors are also very specialized. GG.Offroad is an Electrical Engineer (I believe) and is working thru the problems.

Currently, I think he is working on the issue of pairing the ADDITIONAL Rearview Camera to the Digital Rearview Mirror, and a way to switch between the two cameras when not towing. I presume it is very complex problem because I think the whole system runs on the Toyota "Canbus"(sp?), some kind of digital network in the truck. You could verify this with him, as I have not messaged with him for some time, but I watch his thread posts for info.

You can check his website for more info on his current offerings.

Very cool. Hope he can pull this off. That would be impressive to say the least.
