I’m trying to get solid info and understand things before I approach a salesman.

According to the Tundra brochure, some items are only available with certain trim levels. The debate over whether or not vehicles can be ordered further complicates things for me and building trucks on the Toyota site does not seem very helpful.

Essentially, I don’t like the Platinum cab-length chrome side trim, chrome grill surround, and black over fenders. I prefer the SR5 styling, because of the color-keyed grill surround and over fenders. Also, several other options I want do not appear to be available on the SR5 (according to the brochure).

Is it possible to get an SR5 with the following?
    • Leather seats (brochure shows only available on the Platinum, 1794 Edition, and Capstone)
    • Heated and ventilated front seats (brochure shows only available on Limited and TRD Pro)
    • 60/40 spit, folding rear seat with center armrest and cup holders (brochure shows not available on SR or SR5)
    • Digital display auto dimming rear view mirror with compass and HomeLink (brochure shows not available on SR or SR5)
Other things I want appear to be available through packages (14” touchscreen, 20” wheels, and PVM). I’m just not sure which packages.

Also, I don’t really want a heated steering wheel, spray in bed liner, or phone cables. Looking at inventories these seem to be randomly added to vehicles. Is it possible to ensure they aren’t added?

I realize this is a big ask and appreciate any useful info you can provide.

Look into the SR5 TRD Sport with all the Advanced Tech Package, Premium Audio Package, and TRD Sport Premium Package. It checks most the boxes, no ventilated seats or full digital display (if you're talking about the digital gauges thing) though. Instead of leather it has the Softex stuff, which if you see it in person you may prefer it.
The cost, however, puts it up with some of the higher trims. That is the route I went, so I'm somewhat partial to it, but I'm allergic to chrome so it was worth it to me. There isn't anything I was looking for that isn't included.

Some of the add-ons are "factory installed", which based on what you are looking at, you may be in the Southeast Toyota area as well. Other areas might force those same exact things though, I'm not sure.

CRFL82, thanks for the advice; definitely going to give those packages a look.

I’m also “allergic” to chrome and would pay extra to avoid it. Covered it with PlastiDip on my previous Tacos and it looked much better than chrome.

I assumed the heated steering wheel, spray in bed liner, and phone cables were due to SET. I’ll try to avoid them but, suspect I’ll have little input (if any).

    Again, thanks for the info.

The heated steering wheel and bed liner are already done by the time the dealer gets it, so you're probably stuck with that unless you buy out of the region.

Really though, the bed liner is pretty dang good. It keeps stuff from sliding, and cleans up super easy. That's one add-on that I'm glad was included. The phone cables though are a joke. MSRP they say is $73 which is ridiculous, but not much can be done aside from complaining about it to the dealer, who may just lower the sales price by $73 to be done with it.

Agree with @CRFL82. The SR5 TRD sport premium may be your closest to your preferences. Only chrome is the front Toyota emblem on grill, but plastidip fix that in 5 min. Only trim package that has color matched fenders.

This is my SR5 TRD sport premium Monroney label and it basically has about everything you want. You don't get ventiliated seat unless go Limited, but the softex synthetic leather seats doesn't get as hot as real leather, so I guess that makes up for it.

The bed liner is way more aggressive than aftermarket like LineX and there has been multiple reports of it peeling issue. Mine has yet to have any issue. But you do get a cool TUNDRA badge in the bed with the bedliner option.

You can get softex not leather on SR5.

You can get the split folding with center arm rest in SR5

You can get digital mirror in SR5.

You can get heated but not ventilated seats in SR5

Are those included in packages or can you add them “a la carte”?

@Dookiebird. We have all likely wrestled with the same thing you are. My advice is forget about ordering or even requesting the truck you want from a dealer. You sound like you know exactly what you want.
    1. Make your list of options and start searching a radius you are comfortable traveling to get the truck you want or need. Autotrader, Cars.com, and others are where I looked. I also used Toyota build page and found a neat search for dealers at bottom of page after completing your build. You can plug in different zip codes and search inventory anywhere in the country.
    2. Go to the Toyota dealers web page through any of these search tools and look for window sticker button on their listing. This will show you exact options on inventory and incoming allocations. This is how I found the exact truck I wanted in Pennsylvania at MSRP. Flew out and drove it home to Indiana. It sounds like a big production but it goes fast once you get used to it. Hope this helps you find your dream truck. If you are spending 50+ for a truck you should get what you want. Take your time and you will find it.

Just make sure you contact the dealer before you make the trip (obviously you will...). I know when I was searching for mine, I contacted several dealers about Tundra's they had in stock or on the way that had what I was looking for and several of them stated they would not sell to an out of area customer.

Bluemoon737, you’re right I would make sure everything is right before making the drive. I’ve seen salesmen pull some shady crap; however, I’ve never seen one refuse a sale. That’s just crazy.

    Thanks for the advice.

    Nope.

No leather on SR5 - only vinyl on select packages
No heather and ventilates front seats - only heated

SR5 has the color keyed grille only if you stay with base, package-less models, or if you add TRD Sport.

SR5 + highest level TRD Sport package will give you color matched grille surround, color matched fender flares, black window trim, Softex vinyl seats (front's heated).

Or, pick whatever trim you like and go aftermarket for leather seat covers and heaters. I'd say Limited+Katskinz is your best bet if ventilated front seats are a must.

If black chrome is acceptable that really helps on the front end IMO. Chrome has it place but I prefer color matched as well.
The platinum side trim is black. Doesn't help with the over fender though, I'm not a fan but they'll work for now.
Leather heated and ventilated front and rear. The rear is 60/40 split with armrest and cupholders.
It has the heated steering wheel, but it's a completely separate button from the seats so you never have to use it. It's on the dash near your left knee so you really don't even have to look at it.
    Bed liner was already there.
Wireless charging. Not sure what the cable option is. There are USB-A and USB-C charging ports in the center console.
    14" screen. 20" wheels. PVM.
Bunch of other stuff too but just focusing on your list.

No interior pics but I can add them if you like.

I have a 1794. It was at SET and going to another dealer. My dealer was able to swap and cancel the bed liner for me. Pretty sure heated steering wheel is factory not port option. I canceled bed liner because some were complaining about it chirping. An OEM bed mat for fraction of spray in is just as good.
