I think my cali raised one's are pretty solid. With the rhino lining they function as a great step for the family too

It's funny... The dealer installed the same style steps on my '21 Pro that you are running currently. They look so out of place on our trucks, and I literally just finished scrolling through the RC light strip/bar thread that you were on and thought, 'His rig looks sharp, but he really needs to swap out those steps'... Glad I didn't comment on that thread though, cuz you were already thinking it.

Anyhow, @RainMan_PNW threw out the all-inclusive list of quality sliders.

I'm currently waiting on a set from RCI (took advantage of their 20% off spring sale), and they're shipping was more reasonable than most of the others. I'm not a fan of welding to or drilling through the frame. Since the RCIs can be installed and provide full protection and function of a quality slider w/o drilling, it became my first choice (the sale and shipping costs sealed the deal for me).

My second choice would have been the DeMello Hybrids (also no drill or weld), or if I wanted to drill into frame I would have went w/ WKOR

Good looking rig you have and the addition of a good slider will have that thing looking :muscleflexing:

Hey gang! New kid on the block here on the forum - but me personally, I have been around for a long time, under a different business account.

We would love to earn your business here! We have sliders just about done and ready to go! 2X2 square hitch steel inner, gusseted mount points, DOM 1 3/4'' X .120 tubing all designed and fabbed up here in Colorado!
Flat top, top tread with dimple died tread to double as a step.

I have a couple in stock right now. Shoot me a DM if you want, we offer Tundras.com member discounts :)

Using RCI here. The truck didn't come with side boards or steps of any type, so the family was happy with something to step on.

I have RCI sliders, they are great, but if impacted on the rear section, it still will flex. It happened to me and bent the side of the bed to a degree of paint stripped.
But due to the length and shape of our truck frame, I don't know if there would be any more solid bolt on sliders that overhangs that much without flexing.

my cali raised ones have a support beam in the back in that area and it also attaches to the frame a little further back toward the back wheels, very sturdy design. I went with them because most other brands didnt look like they had enough support in that back section and our trucks are fat pigs.

I have the CBI sliders on my Tundra, but if I were to do it again I would probably go with Slee. I have had a set of his sliders on my 100 series since 2009 and they are rock solid

interesting, he made mine for my Tacoma as well, if this were to happen it would be an easy decision. As of right now I am leaning towards White Knuckle.

I also have the CBI sliders and like them for the most part. I knew I wanted rocker protection but also was realistic with not using the truck for rock crawling. The weight, HREW, ease of all bolt-on, utility as a step, and price all seemed to strike an acceptable balance for my use case.

I looked at the Slee sliders and love everything those guys make. I think the logistics were going to be a bit tough in getting them (at the time) and there is also a bolt mount that needs to be welded to the frame that I wasn't completely comfortable with (not a design issue, but just a personal issue).

In my experience from ordering sliders, if you can have the option to order them bare, I would opt for that and have them done by your local powder coater. It always seems the fabricators finish gets messed up during shipping.

Their website also states the item weight is 175lbs. Maybe the 250lbs is shipping weight with pallets and such??

Just installed CBI sliders a few weeks ago. They are a solid choice, but I haven’t had them on the trails yet to see how they hold up. RCI was my other choice, but much more expensive.

Did you get the 0 or 20 degree angle? Also which weld did you get?

I got the zero degree, DOM, TIG weld. I purchased during their black friday sale in 2021, so it amounted just slightly more than the HREW and MIG weld at the time.

Yep but purely preference, we both have a welding machine so I could have done weld on instead
