They do make bleeder removal kits, they're pricey so I've never used one considering every one I've broken reman calipers have been like $30.

Only $30? That sounds like the price for the rebuild kit, not the remanufactured caliper. I'm not sure what advantage a bleeder removal kit provides; I'll have to check out some youtube videos on it.

Heat is a bad idea...if you can get it hot enough to break the rust, then I suspect the brake fluid will boil and all the rubber bits will melt. If you can't move it with a socket and breaker bar, the best you can expect from the impact wrench is to snap it off quickly.

I haven't tried the breaker bar yet, but I've only used an 8 inch long, 3/8" drive socket wrench. I plan to step up to the 14 inch flex socket wrench next and just tap the end of it with a hammer, both tightening and loosening to see if it budges. Now if I can just find it. lol

If it were me, I'd go buy the new caliper to have on hand so when the bleeder snaps you can just change out the caliper and be on your way...

I think I'm going to plan this at the start of the 4 day (for me) memorial day weekend just in case I need to replace the caliper in the process since this is my only ride.

I've never bought one for the Tundra, but my old Jeep you could buy remans for about that. Even fully loaded new calipers are like $50 for them so it was never worth trying real hard.

This is one I've seen most frequently.

Not "done to" my 1GT, but "done for" my 1GT ... New shoes are en route. Couldn't pass up the deal, and I figure if I'm disappointed, this is significantly below MSRP, so hopefully I'll break even on a resale. I do find it weird I got double-taxed. I may need to ping the seller about that.

Ohh, not enough to heat the whole caliper.

@Jack McCarthy just focus the heat on the bleeder area only. Then spray with penetrating fluid.

I got a caliper for the foxbody I mentioned recently as it was stuck on. $30 at orileys and they wouldn't take my core either.

Well good news for today. Got my brake bleeders free with just the 14” flex head wrench; only needed a little extra oomph to break it free.

Now I just need the Russell speed bleeders from Amazon once again. Didn’t realize with that power bleeder hand pump to pressurize the MC, you need a special cover on the reservoir to get a good seal and make it work well. An investment to make only if I can get the frame repaired.

I got six quarts of WS transmission fluid from Amazon, pined 4 and 13 in the wiring block and got the fluid warm. Drained about 3.5 then filled 4. Pined again and waited until the temp was right then set the level. Easy peasy. Love my O6...

I got real brave or really dumb o_O

My son has the Tundra for the week .... They needed a 2nd set of wheels and I wasn't about to rack up double miles transporting them

So I bit the bullet and now he can round trip Fort Myers a couple of times PLUS use the Tundra for the lumber/play yard/ mulch list without my back being involved :fistbump:

Does anyone know if quick disconnect hoses are universal? Does one brand fit another?

I want to see if I can use the Motive power bleeder with the quick disconnect fitting to mate with the Speedi-Bleeder Toyota quick disconnect adapter for the MC.

    https://www.motiveproducts.com/prod...ump-2-quart-size-with-female-quick-disconnect

    https://www.speedibleed.com/product.../c800-toyota-lexus-brake-bleeder-adapter.html

The male quick disconnect ends look slightly different if I research it on their web pages, so that's why I ask.

Edit: Upon further research, it appears these "quick disconnects" can have multiple different profiles so I guess one type isn't universal.

I have the Speedi-Bleed. Would some additional pics or caliper measurements help? I don't have experience with the Motive so I can directly answer your question.

Thanks for the offer. I just put in a request with their tech support to see what "profile" they use. I may just buy the motive and make my own adapter by cutting off the end hose fitting and putting in a different one that works.

Old man told me check engine light came on today in the best gen. He took it vatozone and it was throwing the p0441. Replaced the gas cap recently. I'm thinking hose issue but who knows

If cap was replaced, you may just want to smoke test it, make sure none of the hoses are leaking, after visual check for cracked/loose hoses. Also check the canister for cracks, holes, etc.

It's entirely possible it's the evap canister purge, but you don't want to see the cost on the part (2586050100). There is typically a way to test the purge valve.

Yeah I'm hoping its not the evap canister. Purge valve is spendy too? I don't have a smoke machine, would be a new venture for me. Always thought they were cool
