Sway Bar With Lift

Has anyone installed front, rear, or both sway bars with a 3inch lift/level kit on their trucks?

I have 2015 4.7 SR5 with the TRD off-road package with the Rough Country 3in lift/level kit

I’ve seen a few people say from 1-2 inches you can get away with the TRD sway bars but was curious about anything above that.

Whether it’s TRD or aftermarket like Eibach, just curious what you guys have.

 

I have the TRD front and rear sway bars with a Toytec 4/2 lift with no issues at all.

 

I have a 3" lift front and rear. The sway bar fits and functions just fine.

 

front has a drop sway bar bracket, rear just move the clamps upwards

 

The front trd sway bar is stiff AF. Raising your truck stiffens the ride as it is, I definitely would NOT want my trd bar on a lifted truck

 

How exactly does the ride "stiffen" when spacer blocks (precisely what OP asked about) are put under the stock springs ?

Not all lifts will stiffen ride quality.

In addition... a sway bar has absolutely zero impact on spring rate or ride quality.
It enables flat cornering, better handling and stability.

 

The front trd stiffens the ride unless you’re on a brand new road. Yes i know ca roads are garbage.

Any swaybar reduces the ability of each side to compress independently of the other side. A stiffer sway bar enhances this effect.

and yes, lifting any ifs suspension will reduce ride quality. Even with the same spring rate, the a arms being at an increased angle will ride harsher than a flat arm. Op mentioned a 3 inch spacer lift, those aren’t regarded as smoother.

 

Yeah just try out no sway bar(s) with the lift and see if you like it. May not be needed with that lift. Easy install/reinstall if not.

 

Yes, I did. Toytec Alumas just under 3” and 1.5” shackles.TRD anti sways front and rear…no problems. I also did JBA UCAs. I took the front bar off to try and see if I like it, needless to say the front bar is going to stay off.
