Spoke with Nylunds. They said they just received the State Farm approval estimate yesterday. John has to look over everything again and will call me back to let me know what the next steps are.

I emailed my insurance agent and they said they have no sway over the claims department. Asked me to talk with the specialist and explain the situation with Non-OEM parts not being available. Said I've already done that multiple time with no success.

I'm definitely dropping State Farm when this claim is finished

Had a long call with the shop. Basically now I have to go back to insurance and say, YOU tell me which shop can fix it and tow it there. Especially since the previous state farm shop said parts weren't available. And then tell them Nylunds will be doing a post repair inspection (free). And they said insurance WILL pay for the current shop fees and towing and storage

He also said that the same parts were unavailable in OEM form as the non OEM parts.

Said I have a good "bad faith" case building.

Will update again tomorrow after talking with State Farm

    SOB...

So spoke with both Insurance and Shop today.

Basically now I have to find another shop to have the truck towed to. I have a lot of calling to do on Tuesday. Will have to be a State Farm preferred shop, and one of their Select Shops. I have to make sure that it actually has a frame rack big enough to measure the Tundra. Nylunds said the bed was definitely twisted, and they told the inspector that, but insurance still only wrote it up to replace the one side. And then Nylunds will do a free after repair inspection for me. They told me to make sure I'm telling the new shop this.

I do have an appointment still with one of their shops I made last month, but that's not until September!

Two of the parts needed are on "backorder with no eta". One of those parts is the corner of the cab, preventing the rear door from opening. So there's already 100% chance of more parts being damaged beneath that simply cannot be checked atm.

State Farm just isn't giving me any good options here.

I'm pretty much at the claims value that I can buy a whole other tundra with front end passenger side damage and replace everything over myself...

Shit this 2021 Tundra SR5 is only $18k, and my claim is sitting at $14k right now.

Dealing with the insurance companies is a huge pain in the ass. I'm feel your pain! Still trying to settle on my truck that was finally totaled out about a month ago. So far it's been nearly a 5 month ordeal. And honestly, it's almost like the truck was stolen from me.

Right, as long as it's a crew cab none of the rest matters like trim level, engine, or 4wd. And then part out the rest of the truck

I wish they would total it! But it's still a $57k truck in the spec with such low mileage. My main concern is the frame. If I can get the new shop to at least do a tear down, and frame measurements I could do the rest. But we'll see. The nightmare continues

They probably will. But, be ready for more problems when they do.
Yep. I had 18,322 miles on mine. My biggest hassle is getting them to cover the suspension and tires. All of which I bought extra coverage for and have provided reciepts. What they want to pay me is fine for the truck, it's about market value. But, I paid for aftermarket coverage, so I expect to get paid for it. I was able to take off my skids, sliders, lights and a few other things. But, even that was a huge issue. They acted like I was stealing things and gave me a huge hassle about it.
I was rear ended, so just like you, not my fault in any way, shape, or form.

Called around a lot this morning. Got up to around 21 shops on State Farm list so far, and only two of them have frame racks big enough for the Tundra in the denver area. One I already have a pending appointment with...Sept 26th. The other requested me email the quote and photo before they'll let me know a schedule date. Awaiting reply.

Then I gotta speak with State Farm again, and likely escalate it to the supervisor. Because the specialist said HE WILL NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING DONE AT NYLUNDS. Like wtf?! They better pay for storage and the estimate!

I'd be blowing up corporate & get to the President (figure out their email paradigm & email everyone on the corporate about us list down the executive vp in charge of coffee)

One of their assistants will get someone high up to call you. Promise.

Ya I'm gonna call and escalate it today after I get a good late breakfast. And will be mentioning a lawyer during that if they refuse to pay for the stuff at Nylunds.

I'd start sending to those 3 & see what bounces.

We had a 2006 Mazda 6, it's plastic waterpump failed 12 miles out of warranty, Mazda said so sad, I called corporate, I got a woman that said I could help but don't want to. I asked for her manager, she said she was as high as I could go. I said I bet you are wrong & warned her I would not pull any punches when I got to her bosses bosses boss.

Using the emails I got a response from the assistant to the president of Mazda U.S.A.

They replaced the pump & gave us a loaner & 250 Mazda cash we used for crap at the dealer for the car.

Man I'm sorry this happened to such a badass project. You're making me leery of Jake now lol. I'm a SF customer and I'm already a bit ticked off that they sent me a letter stating they're putting me on a list since I have 3 claims since 2021.... I called the agent and spoke to one of her flunkees who basically confirmed that another claim could have us dropped. Meanwhile, the last 3 renewals have been ever increasing without any fault of our own.

I'm currently with Allstate for home & auto. every renewal since 2020 has gone up (starting at 800, now at 1200) Our garage door failed a few months ago, was drooping in the middle, I backed the Sequoia in & hit it. 1600+ later I tried to make a claim for the 600 left from our 1k deductible, the agent asked if I wanted to lose the 200.00 no claim discount (literally we have no claims since 2010)

    I said no.

I had Allstate. Never filed a claim and the rate was ok. My agent was a grade A douchenozzle though and I left them because of it. Made sure I told corporate my reason too.

decided to email them first for documentation purposes. They tend to call be back in response instead of replying to the email.

I've called and out of 21 shops that State Farm has listed in your network. Only two have frame racks big enough to fit my truck so they can work on it. And the date isn't until September that they can see it. I need State Farm to have the truck towed from Nylunds, I guess to my house...Also to pay for Nylunds storage and estimates. I see no reason why I should be paying for that, since State Farm would be paying for that service at any other shop as part of my claim. If that can't happen, I need to escalate my case further up the chain to a manager or supervisor. The time and effort of all this is getting out of hand. At the point where I cannot see myself keeping state farm coverage for my home and multiple vehicles after this is over.

Email sent to Nylund's, where my truck is currently located and to State Farm

    Hi State Farm,
I've have spent the day calling other shops. 99% of the shops in State Farm network are turning away the job due to the size and conditions of the repairs based off of the State Farm Approved Estimates. Only one of the shops out of the 25 so far even has a frame rack large enough to fit the Tundra. That is Prime Time Auto. And my appointment with them was made almost two months ago, and still isn't until September 26th.
Can you please pay to have my vehicle released from Nylund's and towed to my house, where I will have to wait another 4 months to have my vehicle looked at.
    Thanks

Why's Denver, population 713,000, only have 3 shops that can handle a half ton pickup?!

Mostly the length of the CrewMax.

Secondly, because every shop is so backed up they'll only even accept drive-able vehicles. And while mine technically drives, it is not legally nor safely able to do so. So even some of the shops that DO have a frame rack big enough, they are turning me away based off of the State Farm Approved Estimates. Too much work, too much time, parts not available, storage of vehicle while they wait on parts. They just don't make any money on these larger jobs.
