Possibly after warranty expires, if someone can show a dyno with JB4 + this, plus exhaust, plus charge pipes, etc and actually show some gains...

In my experience, S&B makes really nice intakes. I have one for my F150 and the quality is nicer than my AFe intake on my Lexus. S&B is also usually a lot cheaper. This is $450 and the AFe is $662.

I would go with this one for sure.

Looks good, I like hearing the turbos in while in driving, i wonder how much these bolster the turbo whine, their youtube video is pretty crappy. I also want to know how good the filters do at actualy filtering out dirt. The main reason I don't upgrade to the TRD/K&N is because of how "holely" they are.

All the testing I have seen for S&B's dry filters show them being very good, nearly as good as a oem style paper filter.

When you double the surface area of the filter you can make it still flow well without it being like a window screen.

Most intakes these days seem to be getting CARB numbers. I wonder if they will eventually. Or maybe its just because the Tundra market share isnt big enough for them to bother.

The JB4 could probably never pass CARB because it probably does elevate emissions to some degree. But I do know there are aftermarket tunes for other vehicles that get CARB EO numbers. Whipple has tunes for the F150 Ecoboosts and they have a Supercharger for the 5.0 that makes 775hp and is CARB EO.

Installed yesterday along with aFE Charge pipes. Install wasn't too bad and the video s&b put out really helped as well. Charge pipes the hardest part was getting the breather hoses hooked backed onto the charge pipes (needed some lube lol).

    It certainly looks faster.

Does it make spooly noises or no? My S&B on my F150 sounded stock basically, even removing the top lid.

I reached out to S&B a few years ago, they cant get carb numbers because the factory intake has a carbon filter on the top lid that they cant replicate in their design (if i remember correctly).

Why is that needed when no other manufacturer seems to use them? Is there something weird about Toyota's PCV system that lets a bunch of crap out the intake when the engine is off?

When you replace the oem paper filters with the TRD oiled filters, is the charcoal filter retained?

Yes, its fused/glued to to the top of the intake box.

Thats why the TRD intake (for 2 & 2.5 gen) look almost exactly the same as the factory one.

It seems slightly louder than stock (which I had the carbon filter removed and TRD filters installed also, which made the turbos much more noticeable to begin with).

For the Gen 3s, it's part of the bottom of the intake box and is quite easy to remove anyways.

Supposedly the the 2022 Mach 1 Mustang lost a whole 10 HP due to having those charcoal filters installed before the air filter.

Wow, I just found the thread on the Mustang 6G and they sure are mad about the evil EPA taking their 10 hp

Nevermind the fact that all the technology that even made the mustang as fast and capable as it is are entire because of the EPA and manufacturer efforts to make more efficient vehicles.

What is the opinion on dry vs oiled? I had an S&B on my 2023 for just over a month. I had to swap back to stock to take it in for some stuff. I don't think I'm going to put it back in so will likely be selling it.

i don’t like oiled due to the oil coating the mass air flow sensors over TIME . It will mess with the air to fuel Ratio and cost you in the long run . Dry flow won’t have these problems . Surprised Toyota uses oiled filters for the Trd filters .
