This week, someone cut through the sheet metal cat shield on my neighbor's Prius and stole his catalytic converters. Having bought a cat shield from Talons Garage over a year ago (unboxed in my garage), I was motivated to install it TODAY. A good friend of mine who owns an auto repair shop installed my Talons cat shield this morning. (Having a lift is helpful!)

I could not be more impressed with the quality of the material (thick aluminum), design, hardware, and fit.

Every now and then you come across a product that is exceptional. This is one of them! Not cheap, but for the money, incredible value. IMG-0712.jpg

That would be great if I lived where they don’t salt the roads. Here that would be a salt/grime/rust magnet for whatever kicked up and got on top of the shield; especially through the vent holes.

Let me know if you are getting clunking noises when you are reversing at an angle. Like going up a driveway

Aluminum drive shaft or painted? How's the rear sway?

How does it attach to the truck? If it bolts on, wouldn't a cat thief unbolt it and swipe the cats?

It’s a deterrent. I got rebar welded onto mine and a cat shield. It weighs about 60 pounds and the thief needs to bring a 16mm wrench and a 14mm. Then they need to cut rebar.
The goal is they just move down the road and get the next tundra or sequoia

I have the skid row off-road. Downside is I get a lot of clinching when I’m flexed or off flat

Is it thick enough to also function as a skid plate? I wonder if it would work with my existing Skid Row plates which stop at my oil pan.

Skid row sells cat shields, have to use the transmission skid also.

    I'm aware $$$$.

I'm not sure if it's just the pictures but it doesn't really look like their cat shields offer that much protection.

    Thanks!

We stopped selling these for a bit, but if there is a demand we will bring them back.

We only sold them as a two plate set with where the cats where. The transmission plate would kit covert them adequately alone.

I started the design for a front skid plate as well, but was never able to finish it.

Too bad, you'd think there would be lots of demand for these

Sounds like maybe a group buy/group order may be in your future if you're interested @Talon2006

Wouldn't be the first time the 1st gen crew rallied together behind a manufacturer to get a batch of 20-30 items lined up...

I am open to this. Let me get my head back together tomorrow when I show up at the shop and see if it burned down or not during vacation!
