Damn. I wish I had known this before buying a set online. Might have been able to save some coin, depending on your asking price.

I see you have the black steering wheel buttons. Mine are grey and control volume, not phone though. I need that black control button.

Picked up a chip on the way to work that cracked on both sides. I'll have to go to Safelite to make sure they will change it even though insurance pays for it.

You could fix it while it’s still small

They won't fix that in FL. Its 3/4 long and in the line of site. Fl insurance is a 0 deductible.

I believe my insurance said it falls under FL state law. I would have to look.

Rock cracked mine (starburst) this morning, insurance asked if bigger than a quarter? It is, they said they'll replace it, zero deductible. If smaller than a quarter, they said they could fix, it'd still be visible, but wouldn't spread.

So, I'm good on replace...still, grrrr.

Yeah I hear ya. I was mad as hell. I don't see how they would fix mine. I did the live chat with Safelite. He said if it's in my line of site even though it's smaller than 6 inches that they would replace it.

I have a small chip smaller than a dime in mine. Middle of the windshield. It hasnt spread in 2 years so I haven't messed with it. I know Safelite will come in and just fill it and seal it if I make a claim.

I'm not sure if Ohio has any law about it. I always just knew that cracks were illegal to have. But a crack can be a vague statement.

Just part of driving. Still frustrating though. My last vehicle got a crack and I was happy to replace it because the pitting was crazy bad anyways, far worse for safety than any crack.

Bought these back in May. Tundra rims don't come up for sale often here. I was as patient as could be. More prep than I initially anticipated.

    After prep and paint underway

Wetsanded the flats. Didn't have the patience to do the whole thing.

Final product. Tires getting swapped and mounted tomorrow

Yeah. Prep. Sand. 2 rattle can coats of black, maybe 4, I don't remember, I was high on paint fumes. 42 rattle can coats of clear. Wait 7 days. Wet sand with 600 then 3000. Maguires Ultimate compound. Then wax. Not even close to perfect, but probably better than 52% of the Chinese rims. And look pretty good for spray can.

They look great, and pardon my ignorance as I’ve only ever used plastidip- but is 42 coats of clear sarcasm? Or does it take around that to look nice/be durable
