    Hey folks,

I recently traded in my beloved 2016 SSM Tundra for a 2015 MGM Sequoia. I decided to do a build page this time.

    Out with the old.

    IMG_3875.jpg

In with the new (technically older..). Here is Day 1.

Very nice! Been contemplating a bit switching over to the Sequoia for the family hauler. But dang, even with a Platinum Tundra for trade it seems the Sequoias hold their value.

Tinted fronts. 13%. Will do the rest when I save some money.

    Looks like a good match!

My shop did 15%. Their tint meter had the rears at 17% and the back window at 16% I can’t tell a difference between the OEM and the fronts now.

Your place probably measured first to get a good match.

Haha nope note at all. They didn’t measure anything but said that 20% is pretty much a match due to the light coming through the windshield. I went a touch darker because I plan on going darker for the rears and back eventually. The owner had a fully built Tundra so I followed his lead.

Almost pulled the trigger on that same carrier. But can’t get over it sitting for 50 weeks of the year…

Yup. I will try to get it out of the way or buy a hanging apparatus but it’s sitting here for 50 weeks with crap piling on top of it.

I will say for the family vacations it was awesome. Wish I went even bigger.

Hey @dpast88 ive seen people offer them up for rent.

My brother in law rents his (has a similar size carrier as you) and it’s been quite popular.

He offers it cheap about $75-100/week. Renter provides a $400 refundable deposit, and that gets returned as long as they don’t keep the unit or break anything. Renter is responsible for pick up and return. Occasionally he will meet them, but usually never has too.

You buy one and get tired of looking at it for 50 weeks a year, then put up an ad on FB and Craigslist.

This thread is inspiring! I thought about trading in our Sequoia for a Tundra for more towing capacity, but lately I’ve been thinking of just keeping it. You might be convincing me! I love what you’ve done so far, especially the pro grille.

The only thing I’ve done to our Sequoia so far is add suspension airbags. I’m pretty much maxing out the towing and tongue weight, which I’m fine with so far.

Does it give it a slightly rake’d look?
The sequoia is so heavy it always looks dead level.

It does. Really just 5 or 10 PSI will raise the back if the car is unloaded.

I mounted a 3' piece of 2" PVC horizontally to the unfinished wall studs in my basement with two drywall screws about 6' up. I hang my Thule box on it with the front clamps opened when I am not using it.
It's an older Atlantis 1600 and yes, it's probably one of the best mods/accessories for my Sequoia for family trips! I too wish I had a bigger one!

Some new mods from the last two months or so.
    1. HP Tune compliments of @MasterYota
    2. New tires. Hercules Terra Trac AT-X Venture. 285-70r17. Love them so far and were a great price!

Will also have my Morimoto LED headlights for sale soon as I found a set of OEM LEDs locally.
