Is blasting loud music from a SxS a requirement?

Around here it seems to be a requirement for people in SxS's to blast obnoxious and loud music and have enough flashing multi-colored LED lights and antennas to trigger an epilepsy attack. I used to to do that in my camero when I was 17, but these are usually middle age bros wearing white frame sunglasses, backward hats and and wife-beater T's. SMH, do your thing as long as it isn't hurting anyone, but it is worse than the Harley people all wearing the same shit.

Yes, you must play the music as loud as possible, distortion and all. You definitely don't want to be able to hear possible oncoming traffic out on the trails. After all, the trails are all yours, you shouldn't have to share. And, you certainly don't want to be seeing any wild animals while out, neither.

Ride in a UTV, considering how loud they are you'll understand the requirement for the music to be louder. With that said it usually just screams "I'm too poor to avoid headsets and an intercom"

Goes back to the what I always say:
The root cause of everything that sucks in the world is,.....there's too many people.
And life just keeps getting easier and easier, so the dumb, useless and obnoxious ones just keep surviving and breeding.
Instead the annoying douchebag being spotted on occasion, there's millions of carbon copies and it's every other person now.

I blame social media. Many people think they are way more important than they actually are. They have X amount of followers on instatwittertok so they think people should notice them wherever they are.

We could extend this to campers, or anyone outside the city for that matter. I don't get the people who leave the city to bring all their noise and BS to nature. When I go out hiking, fishing, hunting, camping I'm going out to leave the city and noise behind. I want to see the stars (not blinding led camper lights), I want to hear the birds chirping, the squirrel barking at me as I walk along, the breeze rustling leaves in the trees, or at night the symphony of various insects. I want to take in breathtaking sights in peace to contamplate what I'm seeing, how it came to be, and my (insignificant) place in the universe. Nature is lively and noisy in its own right, I don't need a bunch of "bro-country" blaring about dirt road wet dreams drowning it all out. Leave that shit inside the city limits where it belongs. Or if you're glamping, leave it to the confines of inside your RV. If you have to drag a big screen tv and surround sound everywhere you go, why not just stay home?

There's a large state park up here with cabins, tent camping areas and at least one RV section. Most of it is wilderness though. Some of the cabin sections are pretty nice and it's a good base camp for hiking, sight seeing, etc. There's also 2 lakes in the park.
Anyway, there's a general store and laundromat at the edge of one of the cabin areas and right across from it is an RV area.
Rows of trailers and RVs, almost touching each other. It's like a mini city within the park. They bring their entire life with them. Kids riding their bikes, running around with squirt guns, everyone playing music, cooking on the grill, all on top of each other and they never leave or go see the rest of the park. Then they all stop and empty their shit in a hole, fill the dumpsters and go home. I've never understood it or was the least bit attracted to buying a trailer and partaking in such an activity. It's just what you would do at your own house on any given weekend,.....only........with all your neighbors so far up your ass that you can smell their BO.
    I don't see how that's fun.
I mean, I guess there's a social aspect to it, but why not just have a block party every summer? It's exactly like being at home, just smaller. I don't see a reason to do it at a park.

Jeez you sound like a bucket of fun. You don’t understand why going different places with family and friends might be enjoyable?

Huh? Did you read my description of the scene?
Not my idea of fun, or why I would bother to drive 2 hrs to spend a weekend or week in the wilderness.
You think it would be fun to pack up every single amenity you own, stuff it in a trailer and spend a weekend crammed in a spot the size of half a football field with 40-50 other trailers, 3' apart? Hey, then you do that. All I'm saying is that I don't understand it and not my idea of fun. The place and people I'm talking about can do all that in their driveway. I don't see why they travel to a giant park and sit in one spot all weekend.
And you're right, the stuff I think is fun, wouldn't be fun for folks like that. Different strokes.

    FIFY.

However, yes, I like my music on when I get away from home and I like to hear it. Just because you don’t want to hear it doesn’t mean I have to sacrifice what I want to relax. If that means at the camp ground or at the rv or out on the trails. I try to be respectful but at the end of the day I’ve got just as much right to my relaxation as you do.

It’s no different than all these people taking a mortgage out on a wake boat and making sure it has a sound system that everyone on the lake can hear. I wish they knew how big of clowns they look like.
And then you have the golfers who feel it’s necessary to listen to music everyone can hear. Never mind disrupting others on the course who still think of golf as a quiet sport.
OK. That is all today. Feels good to get it out. This is good therapy.

Humans have no natural predators anymore. If they would just listen to me and bring a few back,.....maybe some large raptors, T-Rex, cave bears, etc. I know they can do it, with the advancements in genetics these days.
Anyway, you bring back predators and the loud and dumb ones will get snatched up. All of a sudden, the population balances out and all is right in the world again.

Agreed, right up to the point where your relaxation starts infringing on mine, or mine on yours.

I like loud music as much as the next guy, but I also know and respect that my neighbor may not enjoy my Metallica, Marvin Gaye, or Muddy Waters reverberating into his campsite.

So I guess you wouldn't have minded the family I once camped a couple spaces away from who fired up the generator and brought out their Karaoke machine to "sing" horribly off key and hand the mike to their kids to just scream amplified nonsense into from 5-10pm?

I mean, they've got just as much right to their relaxation as we do, right?

The "Just because you don’t want to hear it doesn’t mean I have to sacrifice what I want to relax" attitude is exactly why very little of my camping is done in campgrounds.

I prefer my neighbors to be somewhere....

    Over there.
