I’d hope by now you’ve received the renegade cover. How do you like it? Pros and cons?

That is nuts. It better be the greatest bed cover ever once you get it.

Can you cancel? The DB that just came out seems to be comparable with I would imagine better lead times.

the only thing that I see that the renegade has that better than the new diamondback is the front third section opens independently and it already has recessed L-tracks. If it wasn’t for that wait time renegade could be making a killing.

I like the smarttop, I just know I’m going to need to haul tall shit at some point and would like to use the bed.

If you hold out the 6 months until you get the renegade, you could give a review then post on youtube and be the only one besides renegade to have a review on their cover. I would choose Renegade over DB but the 6 months wait is tough. It's like built once ordered/paid and not before.

There is one non-renegade review on YouTube but it’s is terrible. I’m sure it’s lost renegade many sales.

Here, let me do that for you. I've got the Retrax XR Pro as well, and found a used set of Go Rhino bars with Yakima Racks for a great price. My last 3 or 4 trucks have all had the Truxedo Lo Pro covers, and I've loved them. Never even considered a hard cover, as I've never had anyone try and even open my cover, or at least not to my knowledge. I purchased my 2022 Limited with the 6.5 bed slightly used, and the previous owner had already installed the cover. I absolutely love the versatility, and have had zero leaks in some pretty severe thunderstorms (both driving and stationary) here in NE Florida.

Just installed a BAKflip MX4 and I have to say I am impressed with the quality compared to my previous tonneau cover on my last truck. BAK originally sent me the incorrect racks but overnighted me the correct ones after I cussed them out. I'm happy I didn't wait for Toyota to fix the OEM recall because who knows when that fix will be available.

Picked up and installed a DiamondBack SE today. I was going back and forth between DB and Retrax... and a Canopy too. Hopefully will serve me well. As a bonus a six foot step ladder fits under it - it wouldn't with any other "flat" tonneau cover

Disappointing the Retrax cover lets in so much water. Last couple weeks we have had heavy rain, both times bed as was soak. I will note, I did not hook-up the drain tubes. I’ll have to give that a try I guess…but really don’t want to drill holes in the bed for the tubes. Overall, considering the cost I’m very disappointed with the Retrax performance with rain and winter functionality.

I appreciate you sharing these details. I installed an ArmorFlex this weekend and this definitely saved me time with the drain tubes.

Question - does your tailgate stick if you try to open it when the cover is closed?

I ordered my Armorflex last week from my local Line-X supplier. I wanted to order sooner but he said call back him back one week before the truck arrives as it takes less than a week to get the cover in from his distributor. Well wouldn't you know it, he calls me back and says there is a 3 to 4 week delay because the panels they send to Line-X for spraying are back logged. I told him, I told you I should have ordered a month ago when I called. I also said they should send the panels to him to spray (jokingly).

See, always trust your gut instinct when you want to do something. I am a little pissed about that but not much I can do now as his price was very competitive and includes free install (although I may just may do it myself as I am a bit fussy).

At least the Go Rhino RB20 slims have arrived. Going to get them Line-X coated including underside and brackets. I will post pictures of all that soon.

It took 5 weeks to receive mine.

Thanks. I'll have to try readjusting it. I looked at your pictures and mine appears to be lined up almost exactly the same, but there is a little room to move it.

Cover looks great! This has be considering the diamondback over a retraxproXR now. What led you to choose one over the other? Does your tailgate stick with the cover or does it fall freely?

The story is that I've had a canopy on my Tacoma and while I was getting ready for a Tundra I decided to try to work it out without it.
I have narrowed it down to RetraxPro XR and a DiamondBack SE.
Retrax pros for me were: clean look, t-slot rails, ability to lock it in any position. Two huge cons: you're losing a foot of the bed and with my tools that's big, price of $3500CAD
DiamondBack pros for me: it's considered the best ;), still can install a bed rack if I need it, can carry 400lb on top of it, didn't account it for it but my ladder fits perfectly and it wouldn't under Retrax, heavy rain tested yesterday and not a drop, can be taken off the bed in minutes if needed and a price of $2550CAD delivered.
    Tailgate doesn't stick .
    Hope that helps

So I had issues with the MX4. Basically where it folds up it appears to cut into the rubber seal. I tried putting some padding but it doesn't stay very well.

I just got the x4s hard rolling cover in. Trying to decide which I want to use, then will sell the MX4. Does anyone have options on the hard rolling? I have never liked the vinyl top look, but in picture, it doesn't look to me like the regular vinyl top. Just wanting to know your thoughts.

I was looking at the hard rolling covers too but then I came across this and decided against it. I am sure there maybe others out there that have had different experiences.

That video is 3 years old, hopefully they would of addressed that issue by now.

The cloth cover on the Truxedo Centry CT hard roll-up looks a lot better than the vinyl. I have had 2, one on Tacoma and one on a Tundra. No issues.

Has anyone had this issue personally on the tundra ones? That could be a big issue here in this Texas heat.

You would think so, but sometimes these companies are slow to react or have a lot of product in their warehouse. I am not trying to put down this cover but that continuous flexing along the entire length over time especially in extreme climates (hot) and (cold, where I am) I just didn't want to take that risk. Probably no perfect cover out there.

This clip is from 2 years ago.

The rolling hard covers are interesting but no good in the climate I am in. When its cold out the covers freeze up. Ice is no good with them otherwise the concept is great.

Folding hard cover is the better choice then. Mine spends most of its life covering the bed from eyes and weather.
    So far so good.

Yeah that's what I have but it just doesn't seem great. The ends of each panel are sharp and dig in when folded. Also the water is not blocked out very well.
