Does your complex not provide cooling? Only heat?

Must be a Yankee thing since they don't always have AC in the house. They don't always need it like we do

Sorry to hear your mouth is sick @Shifty'. Just for S&G, how long have you had your CO's and UCA's? :boink:

I recently saw a video of one of those droppers drop in a bad way. No brakes, no slowing down, straight into the ground. and full of people. Never again for me.

The fair does rally some good concerts, but let's not forget about the demolition derby, or even the RV demolition derby. (haven't seen the RV's yet, but I hear it's quite a show.
@Sunnier wasn't the fair just there in SD? It just started in OC, possibly today.

The SD fair puts on some really good concerts. I've seen Switchfoot, Weird Al (2x) and Grand Funk Railroad (2x). Also saw Don McClean (the guy who sings American Pie) -- that was horrible.

Tuff Trucks is cool, too bad it was on a weekday this year. Some of my buddies entered last year -- weird seeing these trucks outside of the desert.

Growing up I went to Monster Jam every single year and always went in the pits before hand. Seeing Bounty Hunter at the fairgrounds versus a stadium was depressing.

He is a very talented musician and puts on a good show. I wanted to go see him on his recent tour where he was doing non-parody songs.

Shit, sounds good to me either way haha. We had monster truck shows at the Astrodome in the 90's when I was a kid, but my parents never took us and I never got an invite from anyone. I really wanted to see truckasaurus or whatever. The big dinosaur truck thing that ate cars and blew fire

This is the only one that I know isn't a parody of a song, per se, but more of a parody of a band's style. This is an all original song by Weird Al, in the styling of Devo. It was also featured in the 80's Transformers movie.

If you ever watched Robot Chicken on Adult Swim, he did a song for it too. I remember playing this for one of my sister's vegan friends and thought I was so funny and edgy

I watched a bunch of clips from the Tuff Trucks course, didn't realize it was the fair. That event is fukt BTW. The course is designed to be impossible to run it smoothly. They factor in speed and distance between obstacles, so that even the most built truck with unlimited travel will case on all of it. There were at least 6 trucks, that I saw, go rubber side up, all on the same spot. One of which, I had just been admiring in person a week earlier when I went to Fiesta Island for the so cal prerunner meet.

Yeah, the course definitely sucks, bucking Bronco for anything that is big. It would be cool if the fair did an exhibition for locals to enter and show off extremely unique rigs like they do with the art rather than have rigs drive.

    So like a car show?

That is the only thing my town has going for it. There are two classic car shows a year downtown at Oak Park. It's not huge, it's not too small. There's always some great classic restos, some classic 4x4's, a few art cars, 80's and 90's cars are starting to pop up in force and the there's the douche bags with their brand new muscle cars. I could see those at the dealership. Haha

Oh and one Friday night a month the local mom n pop drive-in hosts a car show

I was gonna say with as cheap as they are just get a new one. Then.....

Good lord thats pricey. I think i got mine for around $200 a piece in april 2018.

I have central cooling, but this house is such a God forsaken shit hole I need a window unit in the rooms. Without the window units my room on the east side of the house would get to 80. With all 3 window units on and 100 outside it still gets to 74 with the tstat on 69. In the winter it's the reverse. It gets to 63 with it set to 72. I hate this fucking house.

I was in coughing fits last night, I think I missed where you mentioned getting a new ECU. I feel like it's the 2nd time I've done that now. Weird.

I have one of each, so I have to worry about one dick, and all the dicks.

Black friday. I'm not gonna go the math, short answer is "too long"

IIRC, the one at Six Flags near me uses rare earth magnets, so even in the event of a fail, magnetic force stops it? Unless I misunderstood. And there's a backup/failover for power.

I smiled when you quoted that, and was happy to see your follow-up. Someone made this mash-up a while ago now, is pretty solid (for what it is)

My room needs a window unit bad. It's been sweaty sleeping during the day even with two fans. So I haven't been sleeping much

Greed is going to be the end of us. Comparing prices on anything from 2018 to now is depressing. We just bought new windows for our house. My dad used to work for the company. They went from $200/window to over $700 in less than a decade.

yeah I had to replace a slide window in a big picture frame window out front, the single piece was more than 2x what I payed for the entire window 4 years ago!

I'm glad we replaced all the windows in our house a couple years ago versus today. Double-hung 30x72 basically, $150/ea and another $45 for each balance & kit on 17 windows... I just checked pricing now you mentioned it, and $275/ea now, with contractor discount, $75 on the install kit. We did all the work in Feb of 2021 at peak lockdown.

I pretty much love anything in the psychobilly vein, and while I know who DAG is, I hadn't heard this album, so this is in rotation for the morning, as I hack my brains out.
