It is 110+ here in AZ and I have a basic sun shade that is reflective and goes on the inside. Any recommendations on one that is form fitting, easy to deploy or works in a super special way to where I need it.

I use the WeatherTech kit, a bit pricey but the quality and fit is damn good. The windshield takes a little time to get in place, but I think that is common for most that fit the entire windshield.

Might consider tinting the front windshield a little as well.

@TILLY has a good recommendation on a quality sun shade. I can't use one due to using mounts on my windshield....but I also don't live in AZ.

I’ve also got this one. Would definitely recommend it.

I’ve now got ceramic tint so it doesn’t get near as much use.

Cover craft windshield screens are the best quality I have seen
I do have a weather tech kit full truck I would sell like posted above
I’m also a 20 plus year tint installer
Film helps a lot but thing in the shade are far more protected than filtered by tint

I have ceramic tint and use the Covercraft screen. It takes longer for the interior to heat up when sitting in the sun, and my purely subjective opinion is that even after sitting in the sun all day, it doesn't get quite as hot inside. Without the screen in place, the ceramic slows the heating but it still gets sun-surface hot after several hours.

I have Covercraft on our vehicles. I like that they are stiff and thick and fit the windshield well but are easy to put up and take down. They do an excellent job of protecting the interior from the sun.

Toughpro custom fit here. I like that it has a black side for solar heating in the winter as well.

I used to go through sun visors like crazy. The el cheapo ones at Wally World and the local parts stores were garbage. Decided to spend a little on something that was quality and actually fit my windshield.

    Also, made in the USA.

    Too many, but not enough....
I have covercraft as well. Its the hard folder in white. Quality is great, coverage pretty good and it does work but its annoying to put up. If I had to do it again I would get a soft reflective one for half the price.

I have ceramic clear tint on the windshield too, I think that helps the most.

    For those with Covercraft, question:
I know top is maybe two inches short and tad wide at the rear-view mirror part, but sides?
I ordered it yesterday and it arrived today and I put it on, top and bottom is fine, within reason, but side? Sitting in the truck looking out, right hand side is at least 4 inches short and left hand side is at least two.
I mean, even the generic one I got from Costco (Jumbo) fits better, though it is soft so kinda wiggles.

I am starting to wonder if this is a defective one, but wonder what others are thinking before I return it, they ain't cheap!

Got the same, only in silver ... fits like a glove. I fold mine and keep under backseat. Don't even need to drop visors to hold it. Looked up the covercraft but no way could I live with those gaps after a true fit heatshield !

Can you take a picture of it installed? I'm out this morning in wife's car, but will take mine when I get home to demonstrate the gap I'm talking about.

If I bought an expensive sun shade for my windshield that was supposed to be made specifically for my windshield and it didn't come close to fitting, I might contact them and suggest that they sent me a sun shade for a different vehicle by mistake.
My guess is they would send you the correct sun shade.
Just a wild guess. I'm not a sun shade expert.

Exactly! My Amazon Toughpro fits like a glove. However, the rearview mirror is off center, so if one wants to use the blackened side for maximum solar gain in the winter then it becomes slightly off around the mirror.

Here you go. About an inch or so around the edges. Plenty enough coverage and makes it a breeze to put in and take out.

I think we are both referring to the giant gap at the rear view mirror (about 3-4" on the left side of it) and the 2" on each side of the shade at the bottom near the dash. IMO way too much glass not covered; at least for my tastes and expectations of a 'custom' shade... :notsure:

This type of shade, being stiff and thick, would be a total hassle to put in and take out if it fit any tighter. I don't consider the gaps to be significant at all, especially since the thickness of the shade acts very well as a layer of insulation that thinner fabric shades, that may provide a bit more coverage, do not have. And I appreciate the ease of use. YMMV
