What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Added the oem power locking tailgate kit and a truxedo sport tonneau cover to my 2018. It was a good day. Excuse the dirty truck in the picture.

I finally put the rock lights on after 2 years being in the shed. I tried the wheel wells. But two lights had short wires, so they wouldn’t reach. So I put them under the steps at each door. They’re ok that you can change the colors, but I wish they were brighter. My wife says I need more lights. I put the switch in the (change holder?)

 

I got them from tractor supply. Lights change from red to green to blue to white.

 

I have 2 pair I got last year on a big sale from Speed Tech just for this and have been lazy. What wires did you tap into?

 

To clarify, they do not change on their own. You gotta turn the switch to get each color.

 

I ran the hot wire to the battery and ground wire to engine bay fender well.

 

The reviews I read today on tractor supply website didn’t have a good rating. It was more of an impulse buy two years ago. The lights are called traveler RGB rock lights with four channel controller 4 pack.

 

I tapped into driver footwell light. They come on when truck is unlocked or door is open, but are off when driving.

 

I did that with my blue strip light that runs under the dash from driver side to passenger side.

 

What kit is that you used to replace the chrome around the cup holder and shift knob.

When I see a 3rd gen I think, they must be new and don’t know any better. Probably their first truck.

The shift gate part is tricky. You have to dremel out the plastic welds and jb weld it in or if you leave enough plastic weld on there you can attach it that way

Just a few extra minutes

 

So if you're going to spray matte clear on the shifter surround it's easier to do it while the shifter gate is off and before you put on the new one. Ask me how I know.

 

I won a pair of SS3 Pros in a raffle a couple weeks ago, so I was able to swap out the last two cheapos behind the grille. Sanded down the bezels and hit them with self etching primer, then the blue, then clear. Added a blue heritage mountain emblem to replace the old one on the grille.

 

You don't drive that much...

 

Replaced chrome mirror caps with Black, and color matched door handles (Silver Sky), thanks Sparks!
