What is everyone's favorite tool for live data? Carista sort of sucks.

To follow up on my issue of not seeing the option to turn off the engine noise: Carista support said according to the features I saw in the posted youtube video, If those features were not seen on my screen then my vehicle did not support the coding for this? That seems odd that you could change the engine noise on a higher model Tundra, but not my (sr5)?

The fake engine noise is with the JBL systems (I believe) on higher trims. I do not think any SR5 has it.

Guess I'll be buying one. All I want to do is adjust the ac. . Dealer said they couldn't do it. . Which I'm not sure about. If anyone local to me has one, I'll make a donation for using it once!

    Where are you located?

Again, the ac adjustment does not make sense to me. Probably because I tend to have it on low most the time right now.

Hmmm, well I hear what I believe sounds like a robust V8 noise, I don't think it's the actual engine because on occasion I can hear some turbo noise.

As for the AC, I to can vouch for turning it to -2 making it colder, significantly actually.

The ESS is not on SR5's. I am in BC with a 1794 and I turned that off. Like you I like the sound of the V6 and enjoy when I hear the turbos spin up but understand I am tanking my fuel mileage

I purchased a Carista Subscription and successfully adjusted turn signal blink count, mirror setting, and the 3 back seat belt alarms, however the front 2 seats are giving an error when trying to save the disabled alarm setting. Anyone know how to fix or get around this? Anyone else experience this? Thanks in advance
** ISSUE RESOLVED** Just tried again next day after everything was restarted and everything worked fine. Was able to disable front seat belt alarms. All Happy Now !!
(( Special Thanks to Carista Support - Answered in 1 working day and helped with issue ))

No SR5 has the fake engine noise. It requires the JBL package which is only available on the Limited models & up. You’re not seeing the option in Carissa because it’s not there on any SR5. I’m 100% certain of this.

Any engine noise you’re hearing is the actual V6. Enjoy the actual unadulterated sounds of your TT V6. If you’re in the boost band, then you can often hear, albeit faintly, the turbos.

I know this is an older thread, but does anyone leave their Carista plugged in? I know there used to be some issues with vehicles that send data (like OnStar) that it would interfere with the communication… Just wondering if anyone has experienced this?

I have driven with my veepeak plugged in. Same thing. It shouldn't be an issue as they are also made to provide live data as you are driving.

If your truck is parked for extended periods (like a week) it will add to the drain on your battery.

Ha that's fantastic, I'm very surprised at this noise. Pretty beefy for a v6! I also emailed carista back and they confirmed that which Bluetooth dongle you use doesn't not matter, as long as it will connect with the truck, otherwise all carista changes are available per your truck.

    Thank you for the confirmation!

So I set the Temperature Dial Calibration to -2, do I also adjust the Ambient Temperature Calibration to +/- or just leave it at normal?
