We did an install for @dundunDUN on Friday. His 2016 Tundra was looking a little rough on the Passenger Side, but BumperShellz came to the rescue!

Super pleased with the quality of BumperShellz and how precise the fitment is. So glad to find you guys here and the timing was perfect. For anyone local, definitely worth a visit. I got to see their manufacturing process up close and was really impressed by their attention to detail. Great people running the family business. Looking forward to continuing to support you guys and spreading the word.

I received my bumper end caps, hood bulge and grill surround from Chrome Stoppers last week. I attempted to install them Monday but found the 2 tubes of the 3M Primer that were included were completely dry….grrr. So I went on eBay and ordered an 8oz can of the product ($25). I can use it on other things like black out emblems etc so not a big deal. I am hoping it will arrive today or tomorrow. Meanwhile I have been practicing my dry fits. All appear to fit perfect….except the hood bulge. It has a gap of close to a half inch across the top center that concerns me. I have to apply considerable force to push it up enough to line the top edge with the seam between the hood and the hood bulge. I am afraid that although it may hold initially that eventually the 3M tape will not hold it to the chrome and there will be a huge gap (1/2”) across the top. If this is normal then I apologize but if not then any suggestions here on the forum from Chrome Stoppers will be greatly appreciated! Btw, the paint match is almost perfect! I cannot see any noticeable difference.IMG_1894.jpg

Please don't force it to go on. The last thing anyone wants is for it to break, snap, bend the wrong way, etc. When you're done with the install, you shouldn't see any chrome and the dry fit as far as I'm aware is no different. Also, I'm terribly sorry your sticks were dry. The little glass vial inside must have already been broken. If you'd like, we could mail you a couple more free of charge.

Please call us at 884-918-3688 ext. 3 and ask for Grant for help with your install. He'll know what's going on. I'm going to send him this photo and your number when I dig up your Chrome Stoppers order.

The picture is how it dry fits. It is snug on the ends and on the lower section of the hood bulge but across the top there is the almost 1/2” gap. Nothing feels like it will break when I push it into position as it is very flexible but the tension may cause it to eventually pull away…imo.

My 3M Primer from eBay arrived so I did the bumpershellz end caps this afternoon. Perfect fit. I really didn’t need the black tape but used it anyway. My only nit to pick was the area around the parking sensors puckers in a little. You really have to push the sensors hard to get the clip back on them to hold them in place. And for whatever reason I had a heck of a time reinstalling the lower inner fender liner. But I am definitely pleased with the look! I am waiting to do the hood bulge and grill surround until after I receive a follow up from Chrome Stoppers. They are very responsive and I am sure we will get my issue worked out with the hood bulge. IMG_1896.jpg

That looks gooooooood! As far as the sensor dimpling goes, that's perfectly normal, however, if you wish, you can always break off the springs from the white plastic clips, which should ease the dimpling a bit.

Got my tpo covers on today! Little more challenging on my 2020 - getting the little steel bar realigned for the interior fender well was a bitch. Used painters tape to hold it in place on the second install..made it a lot easier.

I was informed by the Chrome Stoppers install expert that the gap across the top of the hood bulge I was seeing during the dry fit was normal….so I went ahead with the install this morning. Although it took “some” effort to push the top of the hood bulge into place I can say I am pleased with the result. There is a substantial amount of 3M tape in that area so my hope is the bulge remains in position for years to come. The grill surround and bumpershellz fit perfectly. The color match on my cement was very good. All in all I would definitely recommend this product if you are thinking of killing your chrome. Before….After….and hood bulge fitment. That looks awesome! But you sure did choose "Hard Mode" when with that huge steel bar
Glad you pulled through and figured something out!

All trucks are built a bit differently and yours is no exception. We always try to account for differences in how they're put together. Your truck looks amazing. I've always loved the color-matched look.

Probably a dumb question - but the bumper shells come in “Super White 2” vs the grill surround/bulge coming in “Super White”…do these end up being the same color?

No, that's a good question. It's a little confusing on the website. But Super White and Super White II in regards to our products on the website, are the same color! Sorry for the confusion. I'll fix that right now.

EDIT: The color on Chrome Stoppers should now be "Super White II"
    Thanks for pointed that out

Just wondering how much luck anyone's had matching the radiant red (3L5) to their trucks. I've tried really hard to keep the paint protected on the truck, but I'm worried that it won't match a newly painted part well in this color.

I was looking to order the grill surround and bumper caps but Chrome Stoppers won't allow shipping to Vancouver BC Canada. Any idea?

Looking to order a set of BumperShellz for my 2017 Magnetic Grey Tundra - what are shipping times look like these days? I see you still have a note on the site about long delays. Is that the case? Hoping to have these in Seattle this coming week if possible.

@EC1 Looking at the front/rear BumperShellz for my 2014 Black Tundra with 202 color code. What color would you recommend to match the 202? Thanks in advance!

Buy our Gloss Black! It matches SUPER close! I think you'll be happy with it. Textured TPO isn't a terrible choice either for most colors of Tundra. I haven't seen it on a Black 202, though.

Keep in mind that with age and sun damage, your truck may not match perfectly to our parts. Always do a dry fit to make sure that you like the match. If you don't, give us a call and we'll work something out to make sure you're satisfied!

Ordered the bumper end overlays and hood bulge / grille surround. Great customer service from Matt at Chromestopperz.

Received my order and I was very impressed with the level of care taken with packaging and wrapping the individual pieces. As well as the QC stamps on each piece with who had inspected them.

I am a Canadian customer and did have to pay duty on the pieces. Just over $200 CAD to import the product. Just so any foreign buyers considering are aware of these costs.

Overall the install went well. The bulge and grille surround were quite simple and as long as you prep the surfaces and follow the directions there is not much that can go wrong.I did have to remove the hood deflector prior to install.once completed, there is a slight imperfection on the bulge on the inside of the scoop once the piece had adhered.

The bumper ends took more time and finessing. The two 12mm bolts on each end were seized and both had broke on removal. Living outside of Toronto we deal with a lot of road salt and these bolts seem to be in a location where they are susceptible to corrosion. Luckily the local dealership stocked them at 3.15/pc. I applied a good amount of anti seize to the new bolts. Also replaced the plastic fender liner push pins which were 1.50/pc. I would recommend this. Removing the parking sensor was simple, but reinstalling with the overlay on did take some force. As well reinstalling the fender liner on the driver side seemed to require more manipulation to line the screw holes up. I did expect this with overlays although the passenger side seemed flawless (could be due to vehicle variation).

All said and done I am very satisfied with the quality and fitment. As well as the colour match. One other thing to note, I had purchased some extra 3M 4298 adhesion promoter from Amazon prior to the pieces arriving. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a chrome delete!
