Hey I’ve been a lurker here for a while and I’m a little late to this party. Does anyone who bought multiple units want to make a couple hundred on one? BB site just says unavailable. Probably not a good first post but I figured it can’t hurt to ask.

 

There have definitely been worse first posts. I know the 11” are gone. Good luck with the search.

Im tripping up on the Foot Brake (Yellow/Black) lead out of the Alpine. I dont see one? No mention of it in the Alpine Manual. The instructions for the bypass say to connect to the yellow* bypass wire. The Maestro diagrams lists is in it's Radio Wire Reference Chart but then doesnt have it shown on the Wiring Diagram.

 

Thanks man, I’d be open to others if anyone is upgrading, I was going to buy a new truck but I figured I’d make this one last a little longer and can’t take the stock jbl anymore.

 

There isn’t a foot brake lead. Just do the parking brake wire and you’re good. The older units needed a pulse on the FB in addition to the PB, but this model doesn’t

Just to make sure im not an idiot: On the bypass Im only wiring in the Blue to amp turn on, Green to parking brake, and Black to ground? Yellow lead on the bypass to the foot brake does not need to be connected?

Good luck, I went back yesterday to try and get more. The young person working there said they weren't available for pick up, delivery, or in-store. But then she told me she couldnt find the Kenwoods in her system so I dont think I was dealing with the top brass over there. Gonna go back to the store I bought mine from and find the guy who helped me the first time, he knew what he was doing.

That sounds correct, yes. The module I got from the eBay seller was different than the pic on the listing, with only 3 leads, but worked on mine since I didn't have the FB lead to deal with.

 

How much was the kenwood going for? I like the volume knob on the kenwood. I read most of the thread and saw the kenwood was going cheap too but didn’t see a price.

Personally I liked the volume knob, easier parking brake bypass trick, and the 4-camera input of the Kenwood, so that's why I went with it myself. Here's hoping you can get one too!

 

Did you try to get a Kenwood? Somebody mentioned they went to Bestbuy with the SKU and were able to get one the other day. You have to tell them to check on their computer.

Indeed, that was me, I just pulled up the previously-posted photo of the tag, read the guy the sku right off it to him, and boom, ordered to store was the fastest delivery option for me.

Edit: I phrased it "Hey there, saw you guys were out on the shelves so could you please order up this headunit for me, I have the sku here..." - as a former Best Buy employee from my highschool days, one thing I've personally appreciated was people not trying to send me to "check the back room" which was always a walk to the break room and back. Because there isn't a back room, lol.
