Are the front and rear suspension off a TRD Pro interchangeable with a 1794? I know aftermarket lifts differentiate between TRD Pro and non-Pro. I have the TRD OR suspension with a Rough Country 1.75” spacer up front and a 1” spacer in the rear. I’m considering a local Fox suspension off a Pro ($$$$). I’m not sure of the difference in measurements. If anyone can provide it it would be greatly appreciated. I don’t need the OEM TRD lift but the cost is nearly the same. Do I go off-road? Nope. Do I need either lift? Nope. So please no tutorial replies on lifting a Tundra (this is my 3rd). I just want to know if this setup will work and what difference it will make compared to my present setup.

    Lots of stuff!
I was thinking about doing this as well. The Fox suspension is supposed to be very compliant so it will give a nice ride offroad but maybe a bit soft on the road. The 20" wheels and tires might stiffen things up.

I have the RC 1.75" up front on my TRD suspension as well, When I put the 1" rear spacer in, the rear really got much better. Not as harsh on the bumps.

We do some towing which is where the TRD Pro suspension might have more sag in the rear than the TRD. Do you have the air setup in the rear or just the TRD red shocks?

As far as fitment, I think the Fox setup should bolt right up. Just need to confirm that the front axles are the same length as the Pro and the upper control arms are the same. I would think that everything is the same.

Thanks. I think it should bolt right on as well. I have the red shocks no air. It would save me the labor for the TRD lift and give me the look I want if I just go with the Fox setup. Both are going to cost me about the same to get.

The Trd Pro shock should be way better than the Trd Lift Shock.

@Tom you were absolutely correct. It was a direct bolt on. IMG_1715.jpg IMG_1717.jpgIMG_1719.jpg

It’s definitely different. I need to get an alignment and drive it some more before I can truly say if it’s the same, better, or worse. It does fell different going over bumps. I had a pothole on my way to work that I was looking forward to trying it out on, but the city filled it in already. I’ll report back when I get some more miles on it.

You won’t get the donkey kick when you hit the highway dips at speeds with a load in the bed.

Alright I finally had a chance to put some miles on the Fox suspension. Unfortunately the miles were in support of my mom’s property that was in the direct path of Hurricane Idalia. I had a chance to go off-road a bit to avoid some downed trees and power lines. To the point, the upgrade is very noticeable on road and off. The Fox suspension handles uneven pavement better than the TRD Off-road does but it’s not an eye popping difference. In my opinion the expensive was worth it but there’s not enough of a difference to justify paying new part prices for it. If you can find a set used, go for it. The looks alone are worth it and you’ll love the ride. Another note, I’m not a small guy so it was easy to notice the lack of body roll when I step on my Predator steps to get in. The TRD Off-road would give a little when I stepped up. The Fox is rock solid, no give. Also I towed a 5x8 dump trailer with a generator and yard tools for the trip. That’s not a lot of weight but the truck road level and I could barely tell it was back there.

Does anyone know if the oem trdpro fox shocks are interchangeable left/right? Or does the left have a different part number to the right side. i have one rear and one front, im missing 2 ( a front and a rear). do the prt number 34220-FR mean Front Right?

    RR is for Rear
    As in rear shocks.
If you look at your current shock they will be identical

@adolfo trust what @Tom and @ryanwgregg are saying. I put on a set and they are in fact the same. The reservoir keeps you from trying to put them on incorrectly. The rears will only fit one way.

I know the Trd lift is a 3 inch lift, but with the Trd pro suspension, would that be the same right height as my current limited? I’m still trying to get the 3 inch lift, but I want a nicer ride, so I wasn’t sure if the Trd suspension was the way to go?

If you looked at the Trd Pro Fox and Trd shock side by side you’ll see the difference. Trd Pro is only 1” over stock. 3” lift equals slow rolling. Trd Pro is fast hard hitting.

just to confirm, you put the sequoia pro shocks on your tundra? How much lift did they give you in the front? I’m looking at a local set of sequoia pro shocks near by for my SR5 4x4 tundra

I’m so lost trying to find what I need. I should’ve just paid the extra 6k for a pro but….

what do I need to achieve a better ride for decent speed off road?

    I have a ‘24 limited TRD 4x4
I don’t want a lot of lift just better droop and an off road ride that can handle my job.

Sorry if this is a lot

    1. if I buy the PRO springs, UCA, and knuckle will they bolt right up? If so will that be all I need to correct the geometry on my IFS since I already have the red extended axels?

    2. The rear hight will just be changed by the Pro springs and shocks right? Don’t need to change anything else?

I am also looking at buying some brake line extensions to account for added travel and possibly the inner tie rod sleeves and stronger outer tie rods (the ones sold with the 3” kit)

So you’re saying that there would be no need to change the springs/UCA/LCA/knuckle to account for the shock hight difference?

I wonder what alignment would look like at that point.

What about brake line extension because of added droop?

Sorry I know you get a million questions a day. I just don’t know much about suspension.

This helped me too! Especially with the height difference for a non-hybrid. Although, I too was curious if the tie rod sleeves from the TRD lift can be purchased separately. Thanks again Ryan.

The sleeves are able to be purchased. Just replace anything with a zero at the end with the letter B ;)
