No good..... I might try again but have it painted at a shop. It can't be Chrome though the problem is paint really doesn't stick to that Chrome. So if I can find a black one that might work better.

I didn't take any pictures, but just followed this tutorial, it has all the applicable information. The price was the cost of the wheel from an auto parts recycler, this will vary but I think it may have been a couple hundred bucks.

Good to know. I am planning on eventually having mine done at a shop, depending on the cost, but figured if it could be done at home and look good I'd try it.
Someone on here with a white truck painted theirs using stuff I don't think you could find easily outside of pro shop and it looked great.

I received a quote of like $90 to paint it from a Toyota body shop. I think that's kinda high :der:

I don't think thats bad at all as long as they do all the prep work correctly and it looks good. Is that with them doing R & R on the latch also?

That price was actually painting my replacement handle with the camera in it. But what I've been told is the textured plastic might be a pain to get paint to stick to it and also might not match up perfect with the color on the truck due to the texture. Currently I'm looking to pick up tow mirrors and have them color matched but I don't know if they are textured or smooth.

I think the tow mirrors are textured also. I just read a post from Roman saying that his painter won't paint them. I'll see if I can find the thread where the guy painted his handle. It was a 3rd gen because he grinded off the toyota lettering off it. It turned out awesome.

I really want to color match tow mirrors but I have looked up so many mixed reviews. I clearly do not want to do that myself. The body shop at Toyota here quoted me a hundred twenty bucks to color match them and that's just the end pieces.

Finally did a little plasti-dipping and changing lug nuts last night.
The old lug nuts were chrome and had some rust and just looked like garbage. Got new black ones which look nice and also finally dipped all my emblems. So much better...

Thank you, I'm really liking how it turned out, I was aiming to stay with a more stock look. Pictures definitely don't capture how much bigger it is than stock.

    It's a 3" RC spacer and 1.5" Toytec Shackles with 285/65/20 KO2's.

I definitely notice its bigger than stock because your truck looks similar to mine. I would like to get the same look, but I want to avoid spacers. A lift is on my long, expensive to do list. It will happen, just not sure when. :)
