For about the last 6-9 months, the folding mirror on my truck (driver’s side only) has made a plastic on plastic squeaking noise when they fold in (no noise on opening), and I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this or how your rectified?

I've searched this and haven't found what I see as any discussion on this topic beyond 3G wind noises, etc. Still under warranty and fortunately my dealer actually likes to dive into solving problems with their products, so I'm sure they'd correct and/or replace the mirror under warranty if appropriate, but if I can avoid that process I'd prefer to.

    Thanks!

Mine does as well on the drivers side. Plan to mention it to the dealer when I am next in for service.

Thanks, good clarification I edited above. It’s only my driver’s side.

That's what I was thinking. Not really a warranty issue, but likely some dirt in the pivot point.

Mine did this (drivers side only) for first 5 months. Dealer said they had replaced one other folding mirror for this issue. The replacement had the same issue. After hearing this, I decided against the replacement.

Soon after the visit, mine stopped making the noise. That’s been about 3 months now.

Try a very thin cloth that will fit in between the two surfaces with a cleaner then a little liquid wax, worked for me.

    good thought!
Tried WD-40 on it's own, but being water based, it didn't last beyond 2 solid rains.

My passenger side mirror does this every so often. Not sure if Ill have the dealer look at it. Its loud though when it does squeal.
