Who has the oldest FGT here? and how do we determine build order with the VIN? Mine was built in 1999 and sold as a 2000, so part of the early build dates.

Think it's 10/1999, but would have to double check that.

Believe May 1999 was the start of production.

November 29th 1999 it rolled off the line. Date of first use (sold) was December 27th 1999

You also have an open recall for the trailer wire harness.

Thanks for checking that. Didn't come from the factory with any trailering equipment. I added the 4 flat adapter, hitch and trailer brakes with 7 pin. What does the recall involve?

If you don’t have the Toyota pen brake converter then it’s a non issue. It’s for converter boxes shorting out

I found this thread in a search because I was interested in how many older 1st gens are still out there. So, I'm revitalizing it.

Mine is #927 manufactured 05/00 with 306,207 on the odo. Certainly not the oldest, but OG enough.vin.jpg

You and Rustynuts? His profile states 1999, so I’m guessing he got an early 2000.

Nobody keeps it at 26 psi. 30 minimum.

Production started in May of 99, so yours is certainly one of the earliest production models. #1 came off the line a bit earlier though.

Color keyed mirrors and larger color keyed fender flares point to yes. Appears to be Oak leather interior, but hard to tell. V8, no evidence to say it’s 4x4 or not.

Nope. More around $30k. $25k would be a stripped down SR5.

    Assuming its a 4x4.

If it were the first Tundra to ever roll off the line, it would make sense they would built it with all the goodies. I'd bet a pile of cash it's a 4x4. Who would roll the first of any completely new production model off the line with a watered down, boring build?

this one would be a preproduction truck I would imagine. First run of legit “production ready” test mules. December of 1998 would not produce a 2000 model truck. Full production started May of 1999.

Being, largely, a display piece, my feelings are still the same. Who would produce a base model to show everyone how great the new rig is?
