This duplicated from storm trooper thread but thought I'd post here for those who don't like white trucks. Lol

Stock trd rims(painted of course), Cooper st maxx 275/70-18, 5100's on top setting with 1.25 wheel spacers.

 

What kind of paint did you use on your wheels, I'm thinking about doing the same.

 

295/70r18 on mine. And I love it

 

Lesonal Base and U-tech 4.0 clear....a good friend is a car painter so we used the good stuff. Have about 4 coats of clear on them.

7 inch BDS, a few pics of the set up on my build page ..

 

Trying to keep my 2010 Tundra simple and was looking to get some 18" trd pro wheels that come on the 14+ tundra's. I see the center bore on those wheels is 110.5mm and the hub bore diameter on the 2010 is 110 mm. I did'nt know if the .5mm difference would cause an issue assuming the lugs are installed properly

 

It would be like buying aftermarket wheels that aren't hub centric - should be fine if mounted and torqued properly.

 

Pretty sure 2nd and 3rd gens are exactly the same. The bore is .5 bigger on the wheel so it won't get stuck on. Hub centric doesn't mean pressed on. I've got 3rd gen trd wheels on my 13, no issues.

 

I LOVE this thread. Is there a need to set up a newer thread just for the later model Tundras and its wheels/tires?

I ask because not only in this forum but on Instagram and Twitter I see tons of people asking about what works and what doesn't work in terms of tires that rub v. ones that don't rub.
Also, which sizes work and which require some "trimming" to the wheel well area.

I'd be happy to post more info on the TRD Pros and 2014-2017 Tundras.

There isn't any difference in geometry between the 2nd-3rd gens except with the different shocks on the PRO's. Besides I think one of the stickied suspension threads is already broken up by which generation it is.

 

Is there a link with the OEM wheels? The Parts pages are terrible for their wheels which probably explains why they don't sell. Some of these are fake.

I just purchased an 05 Tundra access cab SR5 TRD and would like to change the stock 265/70R16's.
Would you be able to tell me if the following setup would work?
Leveling kit: 2.5"/2" (not sure which to get, could use suggestions...)
Tires: LT285/70R17/C Nitto Ridge Grapplers
Wheels: XD797 Size: 17x8. Bolt Pattern: 6x5.5. Backspacing: 5.21. Offset: 18 mm
As far as use, mainly highway driving and light off-road; towing a light 18ft bass boat. I have read your thread but did not come across anyone with an 05 access cab that gave details of wheels.

I recently acquired the same truck. With the bilstein 5100 is it necessary to replace the springs as well?

 

it is not necessary to replace the springs.

 

Thank you very much and I have read about a differential drop kit with some leveling kits. Would that be necessary if I went the 5100's?

 

if your truck is 2 wheel drive, then no. if your truck is 4 wheel drive, then maybe. on the 2 lowest settings, you probably wont need it, but on the highest setting, you might. it just depends if the CV boot fins touch while driving. some say that there are negatives to the diff drop, but I used them on my Tacoma and I didn't experience any issues.

 

Any guys in here that had Tacomas, will our stock Tundra Wheels fit a Tacoma?

 

Hey guys! Looking for wheel and tire advice. I just purchased a yet to be delivered 2018 limited CM. Debating between 18's and 20's. I would also like to keep my front mudflats due to the winter road grime here in Montana. I've been looking at some fuel rims in the +20 offset range...but there are so many threads out there....any help on size/offset from your experience is greatly appreciated!

 

Noob here. Does anyone have any info on this tundra wheel and tire specs? I know they're TE37s but curious to know the specs and what suspension?
