Swap the spare carrier hoist from a Sequoia to Tundra?

So with my 2016 spare tire carrier, it's gettin' a little rusty with time living here in MN, and I'm about to go with a full-sized nicer spare with the TRD offroad-package wheel to do a 5-wheel rotation. I'm not a fan of the chain and the excess that it leaves dangling even if it's unlikely to cause damage to the wheel.

I see the Sequoia has a cleaner cable-based hanger that winds up in the mechanism completely, versus extra dangling chain on the Tundra. Anyone ever swapped these, or would someone with a Sequoia be willing to verify cross-compatibility with me?

I am looking at doing the same thing for another project and not a fan of the bulky chain driven one. I have a friend with a Sequoia and a Tundra and he says they are interchangable

Neat, thank you, I'll have to see if I can poach one for cheap from a junkyard or LKQ or somesuch. $140 new from Toyota isn't bad, but if I can get one for $60, why not?

My wife just told me she deleted it because she did not know what it was... I have a bunch of things to delete in the cart now that are not mine

At any rate I sent a text to my buddy to get you with accurate information for a replacement. What year is your Tundra?

It's a 2016! I think Amazon lets you see a history of things you've looked at, but with a shared account, that list could be lengthy! Thanks again!

    Gotcha.

We have a rule in our household. If you didn't put it in the cart, do not delete it. That's what "save for later" is for which also has the same rule.

My fiance and I just have a joint family-linked set of our own household accounts, keeps things from overlapping! Keeps from spoiling gift surprises too.

Between swapping the steel wheel to alloy and the chain hoist to cable, I am curious what weight savings you might also see.

I did notice that spare was a weighty beast compared to my other wheels, I could compare but I'm going to guess probably no more than 50lbs. Hilarious as I'll be adding at least 4 times that much for winter weights soon enough!
