Truck turns off then on when I put it in park

Does anyone have this problem? I know at a traffic light if you press the brake farther it will shut the engine off but my problem is I will pull up somewhere put it in park, Engine shuts off then instantly turns right back on doesn’t do it all the time, but does it often enough to be irritating? Sometimes I will Park it and it will shut off and not turn back on until I touch the brake. All this is done without me manually turning off the engine or restarting the engine. This is for a 2022 tundra SR5 Trd.

 

When you pull up and come to a stop, you’re pressing the brake hard enough to allow for stopping and shifting to park, which activates the start stop since the truck didnt know your intentions. Then once in park, it’s programmed to restart the stop/start cycle. More of a use not fitting design parameters. Not a fan of stop start.

We had a "Jeep" (I use the term loosely 'cuz this POS little clown car shouldn't be allowed to wear the Jeep name) rental car in Moab April with this ridiculous feature... you couldn't pay me enough to have this on my vehicle.

It probably looked like I was having a siezure 'cuz of the way the car was jerking around at stoplights from me taking my foot on/off the brake so it wouldn't shut off.

 

So does my turlet, but I don't get the correlation.

 

I compliment Toyota every time the engine stops then turns back on after shifting into park in a parking spot.

 

I had that problem too. I am very light on the brake and the engine would never stop in traffic. Only shut off and restart instantly when I put truck in park. So I corrected issue with this https://www.ebay.com/itm/1256660966...=2047675&ssuid=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

 

Like was stated before, it is a function of the Auto-start/stop. Either buy a product to disable ASS, remember to turn it off when you start the truck, or get used to unbuckling your seatbelt before shifting to park.

 

Same issue. I'm training myself to turn off start stop before I park.

 

I think the issue is caused by the auto e brake. When you shift into park it applies the brake, which drops the pedal and triggers ass.

You can turn the auto brake off but i leave mine on because I park on an incline.

 

Mine does it only when I arrive at work with my seat belt on. Tested this morning and belt undone before shifting to park it didn’t activate.
Never activates when I get home with my seatbelt still on.
Difference:
My work parking spot is flat and level, home driveway is sloped uphill a fair amount.

 

Turning off the silly auto stop/start feature is part of my pre-fight checklist every time I start my truck.

I don't have an issue with mine if its shuts off after shifting to park. What usably happens is you stop to park and it shuts off and immediately restarts as you shift into park every now and then it stays shut off. Funny thing one time in a parking lot a 2nd gen owner came up and asked me what it was doing because he heard it stop and restart itself.

 

Best thing I've done to my truck, so far.

 

It's quite embarrassing when it does that, at least to me
