Hey Coldcanuk, many of us have done this with great success but I do not think it works on the newest tundras. Have a read through the posts.

Thanks TRXTER. I would really like to remove the TMPS light but will wait. Thanks for the heads up. I do not want to have my front dash go into Christmas Tree mode! Hopefully, some wizards here sort out the gen 2.5 someday. Cheers

Yes, so looking back quickly. Post #108 speaks about the tpms location and type of system changing. Hopefully so.eday someone figures it out. Some pretty smart members, give them time. They will solve it.

Hey there kg4x4, I believe it is but I know this is a pain go back to pg 1 of this post and read through. I recall the wires are a different color and I seem to recall you just need to ground a wire out instead of jumping power. Probably the safest to read through these. I learned alot by doing that. Good luck and let us all know how it works out for you. If I have a chance this w.e. I will skim.through the posts too and see if I can find it. Cheers !!

Found it. Pg.4. Post #99. Looks like on the 2006 it's a pink wire and it gets grounded out. Start your reading in that area. On 2007 (Post 75. Pg 3) it's light green and carries on with that color to a few.years ago

Well I have found the TPMS box but I need to borrow a six year old with small fingers to get that connector plug out ... does it have a release tab or is it just friction, and if a tab is it on the top or btm. Hard to tell with the small view I have. Been poking at it for 30 + minutes and thought I'd take a break :(

That's the one !!!! Yellow and mint green should.work but for whatever reason it's not. Your positaps are good right ?? Like no damage to the piercing pin and the guts are on the inside of it. I feel.for ya, shouldn't be this hard.

    Too many mods to come
I didn’t use the positap just normal connectors since sometimes they don’t work. Zero issues. Give it another go we’ve got the same year rigs

Same here 2017 didn’t work. Not sure if it’s because I have the start x remote start pluggged into the grey box and the truck harness into that.

Hey there, I have the startx on my 2015 and no issues. I just tapped the original wires and not the startx harness. I'm guessing you just don't have a solid connection on the wiring.

Forsure, I used the smallest positap in the variety pack I bought and it is super hard to keep that wire tight enough to get a good pierce as you spin the connector tight. I had it not work the first time too. Inferno Rob (above) had a terrible time and ended up scratching the casing off a bit then tapping it and had success. I think he tried about 8x. It will work, just gotta get a good connection. Let us know how you make out. Cheers

Yep you were right the spike on Posi-Tap was not in the wire. All set now thanks for the help.

2015 Pro CM - TPMS delete complete after my factory sensors were dying and I got new wheels/tires.

After 2 trips to discount tire and they could not program the new sensors (aftermarket or OE toyota) I decided I would rather delete than pay Toyota to program them.

    Me too!

I think it was all worth it, especially considering I was already getting the malfunction light when it got cold because one of my sensors was probably dying (battery).

So a interesting added feature of this modification. I live in the snow belt and super cold weather at times and it seems if I do not drive my truck for a day and it's very cold out, when I start truck up I get the Tpms flashes on the dash then it turns out like it's functioning the way it should. But I did the mod, all good connections but it seems the extreme cold must drain the current from circuit then when it starts up I get the flashes then turns out. Weird but this only has happened in the cold weather.

Having TPMS sensors and not using them is one thing, you need them? I have been fond of them from the beginning. I would much rather know my tire is low than have it blow on the highway and cause possible body damage or damage the wheel.

When I first bought my Tundra I had a lift and larger tires put on and the light kept coming on. Well this went on for 3 years or more and the leak was very slow. I told the shops each time my tires were touched and nobody could find it. One day a lady comes out and told me my truck was done. I asked if she found the leak and she looked at the paperwork and missed the comment to check. She asked a handful of questions and she went to work. She started by putting it in a large tub of water to isolate the leak and it took a while but the wheel (Icon Six Speed) had a tiny pin hole. She brought me over to show me and she pointed to it under water. I told her I did not see anything and she said keep watching. Very slow leak but covered under warranty.

Use them as they were intended and they are valuable. Driving on a low tire will damage your tires over time
