Looking for a quality option to level my 2017 Crewmax. I know a few of y’all on here are running the Falcon shocks with Tow/Haul adjusters. Thinking about pulling the trigger on the whole set. What is everyone’s experience/ opinion on these? Thanks!

I have the 6112/5160’s. Front set at 1.9” lift. I was hesitant because they are digressive valving but after putting about 5k miles on them I can’t be happier. Do I feel more little bumps? Yes. But I can hit any pot hole or speed bump at full speed and the chassis doesn’t upset. I think they swing way above their weight class. The 6112 does handle the weight better than my dads tundra with 5100’s.

@Maverick76 Yeah, I think I’m torn between the 6112/5160 and Falcons. Both seem to have good performance that outperforms their price tag. This is my daily and I have a dedicated trail toy, so no need to go much more than a quality suspension level I think. Just don’t want a spacer!

I guess if you’re looking for something different go for the falcons. I like Bilstein because of the warranty, new springs, and my history with them is basically perfect (I’ve had them on many vehicles). Are the front shock bodies the same size? The 6112’s really handle the weight well.

At this price point, I would definitely buy the Falcons again. They are a huge improvement over the yellow Billies and I really like having the ability to adjust the compression setting on the rears when towing my boat. It's quite functional.

Had I not run across the Falcons, I would have 6112's on my truck right now. I ran Bilsteins on a couple different Miata's, with a set of Fat Cat Motorsports, custom valved Bilsteins on my last Miata. Had 5100's on my Tacoma and really like them too. Never had a single issue with Bilstein and would not hesitate to buy them again.

Having said that, I like things that are different. After finding the Falcons and seeing how they came about (design, manufacturing, testing, etc.) I came away quite impressed. Made completely in-house in Utah and for a couple hundred $$$ more than the Bilsteins, I thought I'd go ahead give them a shot.

The Falcons have a 3 year warranty and can be sent back for a rebuild, although I haven't inquired on pricing to have that done (I've read the Billies can be rebuilt too??). I have a full set of OE front/rear shocks in my shed in case I have to pull the Falcons and send them in.

As far as reusing the springs, I got lucky and came across a freebie pair of OE springs that only had 2k miles on them and didn't have to use my 100k mile springs.

:D One more vote for Fox 2.5s. If you are concerned about ride quality, and durability, can't go wrong with some custom valved Fox 2.5 coilovers/2.0 R/R. Yes, they are pricey, but top of the line quality and can be custom valved for your specific truck. The Fox DSC adjusters are also amazing, especially for a truck that tows, or adds weight for various trips.

If you sold all the products being discussed I might put more stock in your recommendation, but given that you only sell the fox shocks.... this just comes off as an attempt to get a sale. Color me cynical.:notsure:

Not for the Tundra, at least not when I selected the Tundra from their featured list.

Friend of mine got King shocks from them. He just called. Regardless, universal is just that universal. All the bolt-on replacement stuff is just a standard body/internals, lightly tuned to the vehicle specification with a vehicle specific top mount.

    He's not wrong though.

My disclaimer is that I'm a suspension snob. Do what you do and think what you think, this is a free country.

Wow that looks like a really good deal. I would think the Fox fronts are probably better then the Falcons that reuse the OEM coil. The rear shocks with resis may be similar. I have Fox 2.0 rears without the resis and have been happy with them.

Did you add a shackle or add a leaf in the back?

not gonna lie I was all set to order full kings 2.5 with resi and adjuster but for what I do it’s overkill.

I do like the adjuster in the back for towing, I’m wondering if the 2.0 fox resi rear with dsc would have the same benefit towing as these do. I’m assuming they would?

I am currently on stock fronts and Fox 2.0 rears and have Ironman front Coilovers on the way and a 3/4” shackle for the rear for after I install the fronts. I think one advantage to the Falcon shocks is the adjustability factor for towing. The Fox 2.0 resis don’t have that option but I’m sure they would also suit your needs.

Yea that's what I was wondering, you can get the fox 2.0 rear rr's with DSC, a 2.5 fox coilover non resi front is probably more than enough for what I'll be doing. I'm not trying to win the baja 1000 just the baja 10

Haha. I never got Falcons. On my 16 Tundra I had Ironman coilovers in the front and Fox 2.0 in the rear. I didn’t like the Ironman coilovers. The ride was very jarring and I felt every imperfection in the road. I wound up swapping them out for Eibach Pro-truck shocks which reused the OEM springs and still gave me 2” of lift. I loved that setup and it was pretty cheap.

I was very interested in Falcon but ended up not going that route.if you live in a cold environment that had some issues with leaking shock bodies. While there uniqueness is pretty awesome, for about the same money you can go Bilstein 6112 front, 5100 rear, and pick up the RAS system as well which will help with towing and being loaded (kinda like Falcon but does it differently). If you go with @memario1214 for your purchase, I know he can do powder coat on the front coils and will let you know pricing and color options. He also sells Eibach and the powder coat comments are applicable to that too.

We love the Falcon stuff, but still to this day do not recommend it for Tundras who are in cold climates. For whatever reason they just don't hold up! Lots of good alternatives out there for those of us in the great white north here though.
