Driving south of Asheville on I 26 in a construction zone when the traffic went from 60 to 0. Was able to stop but the car behind me couldn’t. slammed into my bike rack on the back and pushed me into the truck in front of me.

damage is mostly cosmetic, and could have been much much worse. I’ll say this if you’re a cyclist, and you have a 1Up rack, Those things are strong as hell. Full-size Dodge ram slammed into the rack with four bikes on it, and other than a few scratches all of them survived without any major issues.

The truck in front of me with E bikes slung over the tailgate was not so lucky.

Sad to hear. Were you cited? Always wondered how it works when you are driven into the vehicle in front of you by the force of being rear ended.

Accident report but no ticket. When I get back from my biking trip I'll review the report and talk to my insurance.
