Hi - I would like to find a Wheel Center Cap with the red TRD logo that would fit on the 18" wheels (Part # 42611-0C300).

These wheels are factory installed on 2022+ Tundra (Off Road) and 2023 Sequoia (Off Road)

See picture of the wheel and the Center Cap that I want to replace with a TRD Center Cap.
    Sequoia_Wheel.jpg

The existing Wheel Caps (3 5/16" outside diameter, part # 42603-0C121) have the Toyota emblem. I would like to replace those Wheel Caps with ones having the red TRD logo.

There is no standard TRD wheel cap made by Toyota for this wheel. So far, I have tried 2 different TRD Wheel Caps (PT280-34221-2F PT280-34221-2F.jpg and PT280-89210-F2 PT280-89210-F2.jpg ) but both of these do not snap on to the wheel because the depth of their cavity is shallower than the original Toyota wheel cap.

Would be interested to see if anybody else has luck finding a perfect fitting TRD Wheel cap for this 18" wheel.

    Thanks

If you flatten the dust cover under the front wheel cap they fit. Literally just did this the other day, couple taps with a hammer, new TRD caps fit great.

Thanks - what is the part number of the TRD Cap that you used on this 18" wheel?

I used the PT280-34221-2F, no red circle, but I think I’ve seen folks in the wheels thread using the one with the red circle as well. If they fit in the rears, they should work on the front with a little flattening of dust cover. I didn’t even need to take the wheel off, pretty easy.

Can you show a picture with them on? And when you mean tapping with a hammer can you be more specific? Thanks.

the backs were a simple swap, wouldn’t have even needed to take the rim off. The front axel has a “dust cap” that wouldn’t let the TRD caps seat all the way into the rim. I took the tire off, pulled the dust cap off, laid it flat against my concrete floor and hammered the protruding, round button part down. You can see the stock Toyota caps are convex and the TRD are concave, you just need a little extra room for them to push all the way into the rim and click in.

It’s not an exact match as the caps are matte while the wheel is gloss, but it looks infinitely better than the stock Toyota logo caps IMO.

Also, when you flatten the dome on the dust caps, if you push it too far in that the dust cap won’t go back on, turn it upside down on the concrete floor and just tap it back out a bit.

Just completed adding the 4 TRD Center Caps (PT280-34221-2F) to my 2023 Sequoia.

    1. This first picture is of the original dust cap which prevents the TRD Center Cap from sitting snugly.
    WhatsApp Image 2023-05-18 at 16.48.26 (2).jpg

    2. This second picture shows the slightly collapsed dust cap after I hammered its center and its edges with a non-marring hammer. You can also wrap the hammer head with a small cleaning towel so as to not distress the dust cap too much.

    3. This final image is with the TRD Center Cap perfectly snapped on the front wheel.

That was great. I like it. I actually like it with out the Toyota logo too even without the TRD.

Anyone able to find cheaper ones off Amazon that feel these wheels. Finding it hard to justify the cost of these stupid plastic parts being over 100$ for a set of 4.... theres got to be a better way

I would also like to replace the offroad center caps with the TRD ones. Question, do the wheels need to be taken off the vehicle to hammer the dust caps, or can they flattened by just taking off the existing center cap (without taking off the wheels)?

Also, thinking about Vinyl overlays for the edges, do folks have any feedback on the followings or alternatives?

Please buy these and try them out. I’m interested too but haven’t heard from anybody with a review.

The wheels do not need to be taken off for hammering in the dust cap. Just take off the existing Toyota center caps and hammer in the dust caps (not too hard though :) )

I installed the TVD Vinyl and I have been very happy with the results. I also have the TRD Center caps. It took about three weeks to get the center caps. Dealer initially said it could take 6 to 8 months as they were on backorder.

    Thank you!

Do you know if matte or gloss black finish of the Vinyl matches the TRD offroad OEM (similar to your picture) wheels?

My dealer is also telling me a few months wait for the center caps.

I got the Gloss Black finish as it matches the rims. The TRD center caps are a little more matte finish but do seem to have some gloss so I think they look good. I initially ordered and wrapped the stock centers caps with a gray TRD logo.

I posted on Sequoia build sub, but thought to ask here as well. I was thinking to swap my 2023 TRD-off-road 2-tone 18” wheels (as shown in above pictures) with the 2023 TRD pro BBS wheels (18”), but my dealer is telling me that it’d not work, as off-road wheels have +60 offset, whereas TRD pro BBS wheels are +47.5. Can someone please confirm that I cannot do this swap? Also, what would be good all weather 18” tire, with a bit firmer ride than stock off-road LTX tires, for Boston area winters, mostly highway driving with TRD-pro BBS wheels.
    Thank you

I finally got around to installing the TRD centercaps on my 18" rims. I didn't like the idea of hammering on the front dust caps and wanted to let others know that there is another option.

You can use a Dremel to cut out the inside center of the caps to provide the necessary clearance. You need to cut to the inner set of tabs then cut those inner tabs down flush. I used a multi-tool to get the rough cut done then used a Dremel with a conical grinding stone to finish rounding things out and for grinding down the tabs.
