Has anyone tried to jump start another vehicle using the 12 volt battery under the rear seat?
Any issues doing this? Any suggestions?
    My 2023 is a Capstone I-Force max.
Not planning to do this just wondering if it was possible if needed?
    Thanks

I'm sure the owners manual should discuss this?
I only use a jumper box anymore.

I have jumped another car with my 23 I-Max Hybrid Platinum. Process is covered in owners manual, page 529. Basically there is a 12V bar inside the fuse box on passenger side under the hood and I grounded to a bolt for the front fender under the hood to start the other car.

What type of battery is it under the seat? I'd be afraid of something shorting and killing that battery.

Hybrid battery is under the rear seats. I wouldn't use it to jump another car.

I have a hybrid highlander and a hybrid tundra and WILL not jump anyone! on the tundra the manual shows a place under the hood but i WILL NOT use it and the battery is under the back seat driver side but avoid and forget hooking up ! What you need to invest in a no co jump box rated for at least a 10 liter motor should work so you don't damage any of the sensitive components that are VERY costly! Also I carry a rechargeable air compressor looks like a rechargeable drill with a hose out the top and uses a cigarette lighter or its own rechargeable 20 vdc rechargeable battery for keeping the tires @ proper pressure both and be found on Amazon and are lightweight and easy to carry. Hope this helps ! smileytn1

I have one of those NOCO jump boxes and it's saved my wife before from being stranded and I've jumped several strangers with it. Saves from ever having to use the truck battery to jump someone.

Well dang now you're all making me question: can I run a viair air compressor using the rear seat 12v? That should be acceptable, right?

Just get a jump box. I won't jump anyone with the truck.

Cant speak for the other models but we use the "PRO" at work (jumping delivery vans - diesel and gas) and we love them. Also they sat for almost a year and still had near a full charge. I bought 2 for myself and I throw them on the charger every 6 months just to keep them topped off.

    Yep.....I use a jump box.

I won't connect my $50k plus truck to another vehicle. Not worth the risk.

I have a 6 year old GOOLOO 600A peak, 15000mAh box. I've started various GM 5.3 vehicles, a crown vic, a Titan, lots of smaller 4 and 6 cylinder vehicles. Plenty of power for what I've needed.

    None yet, just bought 9/30/23
I just jumped my old truck using my new Tundra this morning. The Ford had been sitting for a few days and really didn't need much. And, I don't have a hybrid. I hope I'll be alright.

I forgot to add; many jump packs including Noco go heavily on sale frequently. Check Woot, or Black Friday sales coming up and pick up a few.

So how would one jump a hybrid Tundra? Would you use the rear seat battery and jump from there?

You'd start by reading the manual

Isn’t there a battery under the hood?

Sometimes forums offer experience that SOPs don't include. Can't hurt to ask fellow hybrid owners if they've learned something along the way. Tips and tricks are always welcome.

For example, this mechanic explains why the Sequoia manual is more complicated than it's worth

I appreciatively got mine as a christmas gift from my inlaws. When my wife's battery started to die unexpectedly, it came in handy and was a great opportunity to show her how to use it.

I also have been a good samaritan and jumped strangers with it. It's paid for itself.

ya I think that small compressor will struggle with larger 33"+ truck tires.

its hard to find not a POS small compressor for larger truck tires that doesnt take forever but that you can also run on teh outlet in the bed or DC plug in the cab. All while not taking up too much room or can be stored in the underseat storage area

Im searching for one myself at the moment .

Ill probably pickup one of those noco jump starters on Black Friday deal I think.
