There's a hibachi place we go to a few times a year called Fuji grill. The food is really good and they also serve sushi. I always get the volcano rolls. They're only a tiny bit spicy. Fucking amazing. I'd fight a baby for em.

That's rich. The scumbag dealerships are continuing to gouge prices and then trying to blame declining sales on the manufacturer. Wasn't it a dodge with the $300k+ price tag due to mark up? Fuck those dealerships.

 

Dealerships should be gotten rid of.
Manufacturers should sell direct to the customer and have their own distribution centers and repair shops.
A lot of people think dealerships are directly linked to the manufacturer and they're not. They're slimebag sales people that got slimy people in office to pass laws so they had a monopoly on vehicle sales.

 

That's the way it was (pre internet-commerce) with Saturn cars. They were a GM product. The dealers couldn't mark them up. The price was the price; no dealer options, no haggling. Just walk in, pick it, and buy it.

I generally agree with this. But to be fair, dealers get stuck between localized costs for labor and set rates that OEMs will pay for warranty labor. Dealerships are pricks, but it’s a business environment that encourages everyone to dick the customer.

Guess my point is the main OEMs are used to having dealerships buffer their shit to the customer. If we remove the buffer it will probably get much worse. And they will never own the repair shops…that will be outsourced to mitigate risk to their business. Then the repair shops will be like healthcare. You pay them and then you get to fuck with the OEM for reimbursement.

What we need are more Tesla-like start ups to put a few crappy legacy OEMs out of business and force the hand of the remaining legacy pricks to change their ways.
