    Thanks for the prompt reply
Read the link but not too much info on type but warnings about resistors. Wattage, resistance snd such.
Does this forum have a diy section? I would like to see someone who has done an upgrade. Thanks again.

Not at all true, gonna need some more effort on your part if you expect effort from us. The thread I linked above has a link which points to all three major upgrade available to these trucks, in the lighting section. And there's more discussion and info (edit: And pics and videos) in that link-out.

There was a LOT of info we had to condense into one small section. You're gonna hafta do some digging if you want the info. It's already out there, and it makes no sense to repost it every time someone comes asking, you may need to click thru a few links to get to what you need, but it's there.

I have a 2006 DC so bulb sizes might be different between our trucks. I am running LASFIT 9003 LEDs in my headlights and 9006 in my fogs. I picked LASFIT because I had read that they had a good cut-off and they werent crazy expensive. They arent overly bright so there isnt a bunch of excess spread but it does get worse when using high beams. You will need a headlight resistor to maintain your factory fog lights.
If you're on a budget, i'd definitely recommend going with the colight mini projectors (Thread link here). They have a sharp cut off and do not use the reflectors in the housings. I havent read much on them, but i have a couple of friends with well known tundras that run the mini projectors and love them.
If you are ready to dump a bunch of money on the best then do a LED projector retrofit. You can do a lot of customization but it gets to be really really expensive. Its a lot of detailed work DIY but lead times are super long right now if you buy from a store, and you also run the risk of headlights not being sealed correctly, scratched lenses, etc.
No matter what route you take, please make sure to correctly aim your headlights.
I probably missed some info so I hope someone else will chime in.

Fellow mini-projector user/lover here. Well, I say "love", although that goddamn purple line at the cutoff can be infuriating. I'll be happy when the tech gets a step farther.

Install instructions, results, operational video, and installation video, along with fine details are in that link I boxed out in reply #4. It's a pretty good setup. 10 minutes per fixture to do. But you'll be hating life if you've got hazy fixtures.

Shifty, sorry I did not the link to "this reply" in the link you provided. If I have to search 2,000 posts to try and change my sons truck to a better bulb thats a bit much ,even for an old retired vet (78 yrs young) like me. Thought forums were to help each other. I do appreciate your link though. I will check it out now. This is not a truck that is used everyday, just in emergencies so just wanted a better bulb than the stock ones. Read somewhere the stock ones don't last long.

You're not the only guy on here w/kids an up there in years :)

Only I'm still a couple years from retirement age, so I've gotta do what I can to weave in a couple hours a day here, without pay, fully volunteering, just like everyone else, along with the 40-50hr a week gig. These how-to and informational-index threads exist for a reason - if we repeat the same crap over and over again, it just clogs up search and honestly, it gets really damn tiring answering the same questions repeatedly because other people can't be bothered to read. I know, the search here sucks, which is why having threads like that grouping those "people-always-ask-about" topics together, and link to the EXACT thread you'll need to read are vital to the sanity of everyone who volunteers here.

Age doesn't earn me, nor you, a pass for being lazy. I only link you to the 'megathread' because I prefer to teach a man to fish, rather than giving direct handouts, it's how we all grow. But if the headlight link was missed or you can't find it, or don't want to go back and look, just click here. But I'll warn you, you should probably take time to read the original link I gave above, it'll help you help your son stay safe in his truck, lots of safety and longevity info there that's pretty vital to know. That's the other reason I linked it up the way I did, as I do with most newbies, as an intro, "Hey, watch out for these things!"

All that aside, coming from a deeply military family, thank you for your service. Don't mistake my directness for insult. That would be a really snowflakey thing to do, and you don't strike me as the snowflake type.
