I went into the dealer for a minor tweak on my 2022. They had a trade in offer for me when I picked up the keys. It was very low. Looking at KBB at various 22s trim levels the COVID era high values are definitely over. Seeing 12-16k drops from the prices paid for 22s last summer and fall

Hey Fellas, looking at picking up a limited TRD offroad 4x4 at the beginning of next year. Looking to spend around $52k-54k OTD. Anyone been able to find some new for that price. Just curious lol.

Crewmax or Dbl Cab? With sale taxes rolled in good luck finding one that low!

Yep. And those who paid 5k or more over msrp have seen that extra money vanish in the last year.

Two dealers were nearly the exact same on price when I was looking. They were both about 5,500 below MSRP for Limited 2024s. Caldwell Toyota out of Conway, AR and Toyota of Denton in North TX.

If they offered 0% for a few years I would of gone that route, with the interest rates they way they are today, and the AYP in banks suck to.
So I too paid cash, one and done Brother.

Crewmax, ill probably end up buying used with like less than 10k since they lose about 5k anyways in the first year. Im not a snob about buying used as long as their is a service record.

Bit of an odd question, but I ordered a 2022 in August of 2022. It's now almost 2024 and I'm still waiting for my truck. Original contract when I put down my deposit was $87,000 CDN.
Just for kicks I went to a Toyota dealer yesterday and the exact same truck is now $94,000 CDN.

Will I be obligated to pay the new 2024 price or will the dealership honour the 2022 quote?
If I'm asked to pay the updated price, do I have a legal case to challenge the dealership for the original contract price?

I would venture to guess the original quote has a time limit associated with it. It's not like a rain cheque where you go back to the store to pick up a previously out of stock item at the sale price.

It's a few hours drive away from you, but this guy says he's getting Tundras under invoice currently:

    https://forum.leasehackr.com/t/nov-...-5k-off-tundra-8k-off-best-pricing-usa/106422

I'm not affiliated with him or that site. I got my 2021 through him and was going to get my 2024 through him also, but that deal fell through and I was able to get my truck from a local dealer for basically the same price at the time, so I went that route (I live like 8 hours away from the dealer he uses).

The site is geared towards leasing, but with his deals you can also finance/purchase.

Interesting to hear so many places under MSRP. I’m in northern Colorado and lots of places are still charging over MSRP. Ford is 15k over on a tremor which is basically a trd pro. Raptors they get 20-40k over. Inventory here seems pretty limited still.

My ‘23 was MSRP in February ‘23 and no one within 6 hours of me was under and almost all here marking them up 5k as market adjustment. My dealer is still moving every tundra they get and most before they have them.

Dealer knocked off just over $4k (6.1-ish%) on my 2023 1794 that had been sitting on their lot since June (at least that's what I assume since the pictures of it on their website were watermarked with the date). The '24 Limited I had reserved at the local dealer was going to cost approx $2k more.

Well, 150k a year for a 60k truck? My truck was 70k and I had roughly 30 grand to put down on that from the sell of my 18 Raptor. Found a credit union to finance it at 4 percent and I get federal mileage payments for driving for work. I tend to keep trucks till roughly 100k miles and then trade or sell them off. I then buy a new one, but yes paying for MSRP for trucks or high retail for them is not something I want to do every 2-3 years which is why I have the Toyota. Hope to have it paid for in a couple of years and then just drive the piss out of it.

People buy 70-80k trucks all day long and $500k plus homes making probably between 80-120k a year. They live like there is no tomorrow, but I like to eat out and not carry any CC debit, but that is just me. Everyone can manage their own finances as they see fit.

We purchased a '24 TRD PRO last week and paid $2K under MSRP plus a $425 Doc fee. It was a no haggle Smart-Path listing but had to travel to Louisiana to pick it up. It had manufacturer installed Bed Liner, Alum Side Steps, & Bed Step. No dealer add ons. I did negotiate a lower price on another '24 TRD PRO, but couldn't travel to pick it up within the dealer time frame so they sold it to someone else. I've seen $4-5K off on other '24 trims.

    Good morning all!

I took another swing yesterday. Unlike the dealership in Orlando, that would not discuss price unless you were standing there, I was able to communicate via email. Unfortunately, the result was basically the same. A Toyota dealership in/near Stuart, FL (north of West Palm Beach) quoted an out the door price of over $94,700 on a TRD Pro with an sticker price of $76,021. Their selling price was $87,424.15. After a little back and forth, I thought I was starting to get some traction. They said if I would finance through them, they might consider a slight discount on the selling price. I said I'd consider it, depending on the rate (I'm pre approved for 4.54% with Navy Fed) and the total cost of the truck. Instead of coming back with a small discount off the sticker price of $76,021, the offered a small discount off their $87,424 selling price (a 15% premium over the sticker price).

So that's two Toyota dealerships in central/south Florida that have offered an out the door price of ~$18,000 over sticker price. I don't judge anyone for how they spend their money. But that type of mark up is too much for me to rationalize.

Based on some of the comments on this thread, I might need to start looking for cheap flights to Louisiana. :) Have a good one!

True TRD PRO can be had for MRSP or maybe even a few grand less all around the region but you may have a wait on your unit though. I do not understand why the Pro doesn't come with 20 inch wheels while other trims do. The PRO will hold it values better since it is optioned out instead of add on packages. The Pro wasn't for me as I have dealt with Fox shocks before and know the rebuilds can be a pain unless you live in a big city. I get lots of complements on my truck but mine is a Limited with the TRD off road package. I have added the larger Toyo tires and bed cover myself saving around 5k from being in the Pro with all the same features except for the 18s and Fox Shocks.

I'm in CT and purchased a 2023 Platinum in June for $68,700k. I wouldn't trust the lead times they are providing. Good luck with your purchase!

You see that’s the problem with society today. In the past 5 years trucks have skyrocketed almost double and homes have increased 120% in the past 3 years or so. But income only went up maybe 10-15%. Right now we are in an affordability crisis where people are house poor paying 500k for a shack that was 200k 3 years ago. And people are paying stupid prices on these new trucks that aren’t that worth it. It’s not even Toyota, it’s every manufacturer. I could understand if it’s business purpose but in reality if I was towing or hauling stuff away for my business i wouldn’t be getting a trd pro or capstone. I would get the bare bone truck but that’s the problem base model truck cost have risen so much might as well get 2500 hd for 50k.

That isn't really the problem, is it? Elections have consequences, even ones that are questionable in nature. Anytime you finance and pay for government handouts off the middle class then the welfare state increases off the expense of those who are making a living. The division amoung the haves and have nots has increased vastly over that same time period. Those that didn't take advantage of the market before 2020 or 2021 have definitely suffered for it. It could come back around eventually, everything goes in cycles.

I don't know about everyone else, but I would sure like to get back the the OP's original post and find out what others have paid or did not want to pay for their trucks instead of getting a free lesson in macroeconomics.

No doubt, it’s crazy how much the economic conditions of the country changes when one specific party is elected to the presidency, so much so that you think it would be difficult for that party to every be elected again. Both parties have a spending problem but one party is specific at attacking energy and when that happens, everything made using said energy has a trickle down affect on everything we buy.

You are correct, but. If people would just stop spending money just because they want to keep up with the Jones then maybe, just maybe this wouldn't happen. But you have people paid $90k for a 1/2 ton. Perfect example, friend at work bought a GMC Elevation diesel for $68k. When he was looking I asked him do you "need" a diesel, do you "need" the painted wheel-well molding, etc. He said no but he wanted it. This was alone with other things. Truck is nice, but nor $68k nice. It has a manual rearview mirror for gods sake. Along with other missing features that a $68k truck should have standard, I think. Now did he "need" a $68k truck, no. His truck was still fine. But he did want a new truck, but didn't "need" a $68k truck. In the end it's just another truck for him, the unicorns and rainbows feeling has worn off and he's left paying it for 6 years at the current interest which is also another reason not to buy.

I am another example. Short story. My 2020 lease was running out. Dealers best offer on another lease was $650-700 on the same terms I had. I was paying $383, bought out my lease and now pay $440. I didn't need a new truck, I would have liked to have one, but I am not keeping up with the Jones just because. I just recently checked and still over priced on the trucks and lease terms.

Eddy Murphy said it best in 1983. "You know, it occurs to me that the best way you hurt rich people is by turning them into poor people."
