Is 52k a fair price for a 21' pro crew lunar rock 33k miles?? I haggled down to this price.
Should I go for it ??

Maybe?? But I would think 50 is a nice number especially if it has some subtle mods (OEM), but that’s just me. Prices are still high.

it’s going to need 3K worth of stereo right away!!!:)

Honestly, doesn’t seem like a bad deal to me. LR is a killer color to boot. I’d buy it if I was wanting a ‘21.

depending on your location that's probably fair. i'd try and get them below $50k though if you really want a Pro in LR

    33k, a hair under 3 yrs old.
    Sounds like a lease.
50/50 chance someone beat the shit out of it and drove it like an asshole. It's also possible it was babied. It's a coin toss.
They already made $20k on it by renting it out. Now they're selling it for more than what it cost new, 3 yrs ago.
    Just things to think about.
How bad do you want it? How long do you plan to keep it? Are there maintenance records? Did you see it in person yet? Does the interior look brand new, or like it was driven by an asshole for 3 yrs and they tried detailing it away? what kind of warranty are they offering? Etc.

No vehicle is worth more than it was new, after 3 yrs of 32k mi p/yr. I don't care what color it is. Even if it's a Toyota.

as a reference point. I just picked up the 1794 in my avatar. by the time i add full RCI skids and sliders, 6112/5160 suspension, and wheels/tires i'll still be under the price of what a pro seems to go for. and mine was toyota certified 7yr/84k

To you, but if you own one and can sell it then it’s great. My 2020 tundra was a 3 year lease, turned into 4 because of shipment delays for my new tundra, sold it for more than I paid new. People out there will pay, new trucks cost more so it seems like a deal to some.

You sold the lease for more than you paid new? Or you sold the new one you waited for?

Lease was bought October 2019 pre pandemic, (negotiated price) sold October 2023 for more than I paid for it new.

got into my 2023 with a huge down payment because of this (how I have made my last few Toyota purchases.) this new tundra I financed (a lot less financed because of the above mentioned math) planning to keep it longer.

    Got it.
I was confused for a sec. I was wondering how you sold a vehicle that you leased.

Essentially you buy it out, amount predetermined at time of purchase, then sell it. Do it through the dealer and it’s just paperwork, no actual exchange of money on my behalf takes place. Positive equity is applied to new purchase.

Looks like a beautiful truck. I regret selling my 2015 pro. I don't think I'd pay 52 for one today though. See if they'll give it to OTD for 49?

Same answer I give everyone else w/this question...

If you're planning on buying the truck and keeping it through most of its service life, you'll love the truck and will be appreciative of the value it's given you over the years.

If you're someone that buys a truck, uses it for a year or two, then moves on to the next toy.... you're probably gonna take a bit of a loss on the transactions(s)...

    Good luck w/your decision!!!

Check the build link in my signature.
New it was about $56 with the tonneau and steps… without dealer markups. That’s without the Falkens too. Mine was $54.5 sticker and it had no factory or port add-ons at all… and a rare dealer that wasn’t marking up.

    OP -
given the market, and the alternatives (ie buying a new Gen3 or a different trim in a gen 2.5), it depends on how much you want that Pro, how much you love that color, how hard you’ve haggled so far, and how much you’re going to leave it alone versus mod the shit out of it.

On one hand, $52k sounds like a tough pill to swallow for a 3-yr-old truck that’s only got the drivetrain warranty left on it (unless certified used). On the other hand, it’s got that exclusive bed stamp, the most exclusive color of any Gen2.5 ever made, it’s got all those Pro “upgrades”, the market is still strong on specialty/limited options, and really it’s just getting broken in at 33k miles.

If you’re going to go down the mod rabbit hole and swap out wheels, suspension, interior, etc. then you’d be better positioned to buy a limited and start the transformation into a TRD Bro/Faux than to start with a Pro (could even vinyl wrap to get the color).

I personally had to go on the same soul-searching mission when I bought mine new. I could’ve saved $5-10k going to a limited and then making upgrades. Or gotten a platinum and set it up to a “Bro” for about the same price with more creature comforts. But the color was what kept bringing me back to the one I bought…and the fact I typically own a rig for 10+ years and put 20-30k miles a year on one…

I’ve also spent a chit-ton modding it after telling myself that I wouldn’t need to do that if I bought a Pro…
    :rofl::spending:

The price of a vehicle when it was new has nothing to do with it's current value. The vehicle is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Do you want it and have to money to purchase it? This truck with LR color and relatively low miles is probably still in demand. I'd be looking at how long it has been listed for sale and making an offer based on that. If it was just listed and you want it, you'll need to offer asking or very close. If they've had it listed for a few weeks, you can make lower offers. What's the worse that can happen...they say no and you walk away or you counter with a bigger number.

I bought my 21 LR TRD Pro in August of this year and it had ~16K miles on it. I also paid to have it shipped across the country. I paid more than $52 + what it cost in transporting. But, I also do not buy a new car/truck every couple of years. My Tacoma was purchased new 17 years ago and I'm still driving it with over 300K miles. If you don't make a living buying and selling cars, why would you be concerned about what loss you take on it.

I don't think I've ever purchased a car/truck/motorcycle with the concern of what it might sell for down the road. I buy it and use it like a tool.
